Allow me to choose what shows in Important on Inbox

Now that the Inbox is in BETA and I used it a little bit, I have one piece of feedback/question. Will there be an option to specify what we want to go to the "other" inbox, as opposed to the "important" inbox. I didn't see anything for it in settings, and my workflow involves keeping an eye on some things that it was automatically marking "other". Some things I want to send to other, of course, but it would be nice to be able to customize those settings.

Hey, everyone!
We're excited to announce that the
ability to customize Importance on Inbox is now live
! You'll notice a new Customize button in the top-right of the Inbox header, which opens a new sidebar where you can click on
Customize Importance
and pick what is important to you! Customizing importance is done by notification type, such as status changes, assignee changes, or due dates being overdue. Some are already enabled by default (or required), but there are many different types of notifications that you can elect as being important!
Please give it a try, and let us know if you have any feedback 😊

Please allow us to filter notifications by Space, List, and Assignee.. This is insane that you cannot do this.
PLEASE bring the same filtering capability as lists have to notifications. It is pure chaos with 20+ users in our workspace and trying to take a look at one person's/a team's notifications.

Brendan W Thanks! Just tried it. I have turned every single category to Important and the counts there say 39/39 as i'd expect. But I still see a notification in "Other" that is not in "Important". How is this possible? Do the settings only apply to new events moving forward and old ones that were already in the "Other" inbox remain there?
Brendan W
Jake DeGroot: Yes, changes will only apply to new notifications that arrive :)
We explain this on the sidebar, but let us know if we can be more clear on this topic in any way!

Brendan W - Thank you! I've just tweaked the settings for my inbox. Very happy that I can set what is important to me.
Jake DeGroot
Brendan W Ah yeah. Thanks. That makes sense and I see the helper text when I scroll all the way down.
Brendan W
Betsy Dunphy (BD) Glad to hear it! Let us know what you think as you play with it :)
Brendan W
Jake DeGroot Ah, yes. Since you set everything to important, its now at the bottom instead of the middle between the two sections.
Make sure to follow this Canny for when the All tab is coming (which is what it sounds like you'd like to have): https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/all-tab-for-important-and-other-notifications

Brendan W Awesome!

Brendan W Hi!
Same as Alex Bowsher : Space and List is a needed filter for it.
Mara
Brendan W Why would it only apply to new notifications?
This could be an interesting feature to use to scan during the day according to different filter.
Brendan W
Mara: Its just a technical limitation of ours at this moment, but its something we might reconsider in the future!

Brendan W for now its working great this new feature. Thanks!!!

I've found that the Important inbox does a pretty good job of showing me things I actually consider important -- the one notification that consistently goes to "other" for some reason, is if someone uploads a file (only) or uploads a file and updates a status (only) -- for some reason that particular notification will go to my other tab instead of the "important" tab (which is where I'd want it to go). I would love to be able to designate specific types of notifications (like that) to go to the "important" tab.

Hey, everyone!
We're actively developing this feature as you know, but still have a few questions we'd love your feedback on!
If you have a few minutes, please take this survey!

Hey Brendan thank you!
Ideally our team is hoping for an organize inbox system that functions like so:
3 tabs at the top of the inbox
Tab 1: All Tab 2: Important Tab 3: Other
---
All = single combined tab of all notifications for those who like a single place to see everything
Important = custom filtering of message types we think are important to our own personal experience / workflow
Other = random other notifications that we can’t turn off on clickup, but should we ever want to see them, they’re in the extra other inbox.

Hey, there!
We're excited to begin our short private BETA for customizing the Important tab on Inbox.
If you're interested in giving it a go, and providing us feedback, please fill out this quick Form:
Thank you in advance!

In the meantime, can't you just remove the 'Other' option as everything is important unless I choose otherwise
Betsy Dunphy (BD)
Not having the ability to set what should be in Important vs Others is impeding the work of some in our group. This list of what should be Important and what is an Other seems arbitrary. Please allow for the customization so that users can maximize their efficiency in task handling and notifications.

It would be killer if the inbox view grouped notifications like below.
Date
--->Space
----------> List
-----------------> Task
So this is a different paradigm for inbox based on the observation that some teams are moving away from Slack to alternatives like Glue and Zulip that allow Topic based conversations. More interestingly, Clickup can be more powerful than Glue and Zulip because the 'task' itself functions like a 'topic.'
