Currently, Gantt views can only display tasks/projects within a single List. To get a portfolio-level timeline showing multiple projects, I have to create "shell" Project tasks as proxies for what should be Lists. This forces a tradeoff: either I use a List (and get dashboards, custom statuses, views, and proper task management) or I use a Project task (and get Gantt visibility), but not both without duplicating work and manually syncing dates.
I need the ability to create a Gantt view that shows Lists themselves as timeline bars (using the earliest start date and latest due date of their contents), alongside individual tasks/projects from other Lists. This would enable true portfolio-level planning without sacrificing List-level features like dashboards and dedicated views.
Use case: I manage multiple engineering projects, each as its own List with dashboards and detailed tracking. I want one Gantt that shows all of them on a single timeline without maintaining duplicate "proxy" tasks.
