Allow filtering of notifications by status, location, due date, priority, etc.
Lauren Gray
I know there's a notifications v3 request that's "planned," but maybe the effort to payoff ratio on this would be more favorable for a quicker turnaround? I'd like to be able to apply the same filters to notifications that I can to tasks, in order to make clearing the inbox easier.
Examples:
- status
- due date
- priority
- assignee
What this would allow me to do:
- Scan through notifications on tasks that are now marked as "closed" and likely don't need any further action.
- Bring notifications on high priority or due soon tasks to my attention easily
- Filter out notifications from bot-like accounts or prioritize notifications from team members in specific departments

Hey, everyone!
We're back with another quick survey on Notifications. If you have time, we'd appreciate your feedback to help inform the future of ClickUp!
Thanks so much!

Please include in the roadmap re: Notifications
Able to clear non-essential notifications without affecting the ones that are directly relevant to you, such as those that you're mentioned or assigned.

EDIT:
We can create views for notifications/activities
It's called "Activity" View
We should be able to create Views for notifications. It is very necessary to have visibility on notification location, date, person, activity type, etc..
ESPECIALLY as an Admin

Can we please have the new inbox able to filter by space? Honestly so important for us. We've been really needing this since we started.

Hannah Johnson: We're planning to introduce the ability to filter by location in the future!

I love the current notification view but I would love to filter by status - so I can focus on tasks that are not yet completed when viewing notifications
Julian Pustkuchen
Same here! Often you simply delete all tasks that are already completed, if you have LOTS of notifications and know these are irrelevant!

Brendan W thinking about this again I think it would even be worth a shortcut or dropdown at / beneath the "Clear all" button: "Clear completed"
Guess that would be helpful for many users!

Notifications sortable by space
Trista Perot
Making the notifications sortable by space rather than reverse chronological would be super helpful. When you want to see all the updates for a space, you have to scroll through all of them to find updates. This would allow a quick overview of all recent activity. Adding a filter would also work (but less desirable).

This is vital for people running agencies. IE I have folders/lists per client...and when I am working on their account, I need a way to see all the task updates, comments, @s etc just for them, otherwise I am stcrolling and swapping between client accounts actioning things. Nightmare~!

Group and Filter Notifications

Filtering!! would love to see just my chat notifications so it feels like slack or messenger. Also grouping to cut down the amount I have to scroll. Could Maybe add chat to explore window??

Hey, guys! 👋
We're moving at a fast pace to deliver some amazing improvements, and requested features, to notifications! As part of our move to deliver this new Inbox experience, we have a quick survey for you guys to take on different layout options.
I've created a short video to walk you through each option. After watching the video, please open the survey to provide your input! Your help means the world!
Thank you! 💜

Brendan W: Great stuff!
As I said in my survey:
BEST: Option 1 allows you to see both the task details and the comments/updates on the right-hand side panel... while keeping the list of notifications on the left clean and neatly arranged so you can see them all at a glance.
Option 2 is more messy because it opens the task updates/comments underneath the notifications, messing the layout of the notification list, and that's unnecessary since you already have access to the task details/comments in the right pane.
Option 3, has more of an Apple style design, which is a bit off, and not in line with the rest of ClickUp UI/UX. Non Apple users (like me) can find it a bit odd.
Nick Kadutskyi
Brendan W: Option 3 is the best because it provides more information at a glance for an individual notification. This helps to make a decision quicker without opening any sidebars. At the same time sidebar is bigger thus providing more info as well.
Also, please consider grouping notifications for the same task.
I think Asana doesn't pretty good job at grouping. (screenshot attached).

Brendan W: Filters are far more important to our use case than layout. Filter by space, folder, list and user. The current layout works well and I would prefer not to have to retrain users. That said, Option 3 is my preference because we use Front.
Hannah Johnson
Brendan W: Echoing that the filter function is so, so much more important than layout right now. We've needed this and have been waiting for this for so long. The new Inbox is cool, but without the ability to filter by location still this is adding so much extra time to organizing and efficiency for us. It's very impractical to not be able to work on items by topic. :/

Filtering my notifications is important to allow me to quickly review tasks by project or assignee.
