AI Summary of ClickUp lists
in progress
Sam Manaberi
I'd find it helpful to be able to get AI generated summaries of entire ClickUp lists and be able to ask follow up questions.
Thanks

For future travels of this feature request - Please us know what types of questions you would ask on the List that a summary feature would help you with!
Example: "Summarize the work done in the last 7 days"
Yes, we do plan on building this feature.
Jenni Skarsten
Zach - ClickUp On the project update prompt, is there any way we can add "Last 2 weeks" as an option. 2-week sprints are quite common and it would be very helpful to be able to look out over the past sprint to retrieve updates.

It would be great to ask AI to summarize a folder / list or space in order to say : 1) What has been done recently, what is currently in Progress and will be done in the futur. This would be very usefull to speed up customer reporting

Just some other takes sorry if theyve been covererd already. We run an AI solutions agency and see sooo many issues with big tech companies almost throwing Ai into their software. Thankfully not Clickup it's not bad(i dont use brain).
Any AI related use where you're asking for a personalised response means you HAVE to have the ability to upload documents of examples, tone of voice etc. (this at thebasic level).
Are there any articles anywhere regarding context windows? Or how long is the context window? Whats the base model/s? Llama fine tune?
We'd benefit A LOT if it was simply available out of the app. e dont run task management from Clickup, but we do use it every day as a knowledge base and some project planning. So being able to use Slack to grab bits of info quick would im pretty sure save everyone here a lot of time.
Might be a way around this as i mentioned in my last post but being able to build ur multi agents to essentially cary out a lotof our work within clickup would be great, but as far as I've looked there isn't enough access on the API to do this. Might be wrong. Will dig deep this weekend.

Similar to what Notion are bringing in is to use Clickup as a database we can question from other apps. Slack being the primary one. This would be a complete game changer. Just thinking out loud but is there a way to API out all of your Clickup space that is actually structured slightly (unlike exports). he reason I ask is we could use Clickup > upsert to Pinecone > LLM > Query from slack. And have the VD run every week to update the vector database thinking of a work around as we use Click up simply as a database not for task management.

Holly Peck Thank you for this. Are they ever considering adding AI Summary for spaces / folders instead of just lists? Or this would be a different feature request?

Zach - ClickUp any update on this?

Saw the demo, looks great so far. Will this be applicable at the folder level rather than just the list level?

Summary of work done in Folder X for the month of May

I am replying to screen-recording-2024-05-30-18:33 by Nick Krekow on May 30 at 9:37 pm requesting feedback.
What you have started is great, however, what I would really like to see (in every AI use) is a mini database connected to each location where you have asked AI to do something for you, that you can refer back to in the future, similar to how ChatGPT allows you to have conversations with AI and it keeps those conversations for future reference. I believe this is HUGELY IMPORTANT, as I have been playing around with AI Brain, tweaking my requests each time with AI, only to find that when I click on a link provided by AI brain (in its response), of course, it navigates away from AI Brain and takes me to the link - only to lose what I had been working on - which does not save time, but rather increases the time spent trying to get the exact result you are looking from from AI Brain. Please see the image attached, taken from ChatGPT, where I have 2 conversations in its history, one about "Inserting Image into HTML" and another re "New Bookkeeper Setup Request". This is critical!

Natalie Sandford: Hear you on this! Something I also want badly as well. It's on our roadmap and something we are going to add sooner than later but will be separate from this feature release. You'll be able to refer back to previous conversations with full saved history and it will remember the location/object you were talking about as well (eg a task, list, doc, the entire workspace, etc.)

Hey all! We've been hard at work on this and I just wanted to share a quick video of what has been built so far so we can get feedback from y'all to make sure it's the best it can possibly be and we aren't forgetting anything. Please drop any and all feedback in the thread! https://dev-share.clickup.com/clip/s/t333/fda6b3b8-7cb2-416f-80e1-d14608242b9a/screen-recording-2024-05-30-18:33.webm

Nick Krekow It looks great so far! I’m excited to get my hands on it. It would be great to save your own configurations of the project summary options. Basically a preset that becomes an option when you ask to summarize a list. This way you could dial down quickly without having to select your options each time.

Nick Krekow i think its amazing progress. My first thoughts are being able to save specific filters and not having to recreate it everytime you want to pull / ask the same thing.
I also think i didnt see any way currently to possibly filter lists by a custom field. For instance lets say i want to categorize a list or i have a single list which i track departments. I would like the ai to be able to drill down based on marketing / systems. Maybee today i only neee to include an update for the development team projects.
I understand a summary can be based on a last 30 days activity. But there also can be use cases of wanting to track down custom date ranges or all time scenarios. For instancd maybee a team is wanting to know what were all the campaigns launched by month. Over the last year.
I also would like to see if you could filter by space and folders. For restrictions to spaces. It would be helpful to use ai to help generate updates and summaries for spaces that can drill into those fields and logic. So i would call it advanced segmentation on top of your brain.
Keep up the amazing work!
Christian Gustafson
Nick Krekow - great start! When we are being asked for updates from the executive team, they want to know (for the key/major initiatives) what is the recent work (i.e. past 7 days) thats been completed, what’s planned next, and when will the project (or next milestone) be complete.
This is typically only known intuitively by our project managers as this information may not be recorded explicitly in task comments/checklists but also in meeting and email conversations (which is why I think the current design of AI - ClickUp context only -struggles to answer these questions).

Nick Krekow
Levi Bretz: Definitely agree, I also want to add a "Custom" option where you can write out your own prompts to get the exact formatting/style you want. I don't think we'll be able to include this in the first version but maybe as an interim solution we would just save the last options you selected. Would that be better for you until we can get ability to create presets built?
N
Nick Krekow
Vincent D'Amico: Hear you on all of these! We're currently working on incorporating it into our views system (AI today is backed primarily by our data in search which is a separate system) so you can ask it to filter on anything (and have the results be super accurate which it isn't always today). And just to be clear to make sure I understand - you have a custom field for lets say "Department" and you would like to be able to say group these reports by department for example or only do a report for department x, etc. is that correct?
Custom date ranges makes sense and I was thinking about this the other day!
Re having this on spaces and folders it is something we are working on but adding it to lists first since it is the easiest (and all the work we do on lists is relevant for adding this to folders and spaces too)
N
Nick Krekow
Christian Gustafson: Yup agree, although I will say it always surprises me how good AI can be at coming up with accurate estimates (but it can also be wildly incorrect haha). The meetings piece you mentioned is something we really would like to do (selfishly I want it so I never had to take notes or write out action items from meetings again haha!).
However since we can't get this information today, what output from this would be most useful for your project managers time and make creating these updates for your executive team a little easier/quicker?
We're working on adding an "Executive summary" option as well that I think might help here too.
N
Nick Krekow
Vincent D'Amico: One other thing I want to mention is we are making it so that Ask AI/Project report, etc will take the filters on the current view you are looking at into account I think this might also solve your first point? Is that the behavior you would expect or would you find that confusing?
V
Vincent D'Amico
Nick Krekow cant wait to see how far you all are on this! very exciting stuff.
