AI (Clickup Brain) Draft/Chat Recall
planned
Staci Clarke
Sometimes you need to recall a chat/draft when you inadvertently clicked away from or closed the window in error. It would also be nice to be able to see the prompt that you used or answers to the questions that you gave to get the results.

ClickUp brain should most definitely have a memory. I was quite surprised to find out that it doesn't remember any conversations and there is no way to access previous discussions.
Our company has purchased this system to help manage and recall information to provide quotes to clients and remember key tasks.
I attempted to ask the brain to help me to help it, ie. What information does it require to help streamline our workspace system better. I then had to come off the chat, and couldn't find our conversation. Wasted time imputing information that lands nowhere.
It would be great to see the development of this platform, there is truly great potential here.

Morven Campbell: thanks! Yes, giving Brain memory is planned.
Sounds like you'd mostly want it to remember conversations you've had with it in the past?
Anything else you'd like it to remember?
Liam
Hi, I use Brain heavily in research. I can imagine a number of people do to, but I feel a gap is present in it's use case as a research assistant.
Is it possible get direct links to an existing chat? I often find being able to associate a chat to a private list where I track research actions would be a huge helping hand Alex Omeyer (ClickUp).
Thanks

Liam: thanks! It sounds like you'd like to be able to share links to conversations you've had with Brain?
How would you like to control who you share it with? E.g. you could select specific users, make it accessible to all your workspace, or even make it public.
Would you expect users you share it with to be able to continue this conversation with Brain?
Liam
Hi Alex Omeyer (ClickUp)
Honestly, I think you’ve covered all the user journeys I would find particularly helpful. You’ve thought further ahead than I had on this one. For my needs, simply being able to add a unfurling link (with preview) to a ClickUp Brain chat for personal reference was enough, but your suggestions expand on that idea in a way that makes a lot of sense—especially for enabling others to share conversations, with controllable restrictions on who can/cannot view.
Continuing the conversation is a great idea as well. I might not use that feature much, but I can see how it could be valuable for others. If you’re aiming to create a feature-rich addition, I’d definitely suggest bringing that idea along for the ride also.

Staci Clarke Jennifer Nathan Nelson to make sure I got this right, you'd like to:
- Open the Ask AI modal/sidebar
- Type a prompt (maybe even run it)
- Close the sidebar
- See your prompt and/or response when you open it again
Correct? If so, I've got this in the pipeline!
Jennifer
Currently the AI chat history will be gone once you close the window.

Right, not only the prompt but the entire chat session you have with the AI tool: your prompts and it's answers. I'm surprised there isn't a way to automatically generate the entirety of the conversation and cache it at least temporarily (for a few days or so, with clear warnings that it will disappear later) in a location that is convenient for users to later reference.
