Savable complex boolean filters for any object type (AND and OR)

We need the ability to create filter views using combinations of AND, OR and NOT, that act on not only task name text, but also spaces, lists, folders, labels, etc.
For example, each department (space) might have its own ideas or submissions section (list or folder). Those who plan dev priority would like to see a list view of just certain lists or folders across their org.
Or any custom selection, for that matter. Implying that the filter should allow for a simple "hide this item" in the view.
This new request was requested by @zeb-1 in the originating idea that got closed:
https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/advanced-filters-or-conditions "filters that allow for complex combinations of AND and OR logic across all the various attributes of tasks and projects"
Below are additional requests that could be folded under the same filter requirement:

We use "Consider Closing" views for items that are probably ready to be closed but we want to be sure. The filters are absurd - 40 or 50 filters where most items are repeated over and over, because there's no parenthesis. God help us if we have to make an adjustment.
It would be so much better if you would have the option for a logical formula for the filter - you would be able to do anything you want for any use case. You can leave the visual filter for beginners.
((A is this) and ((B is that) or (C is another))) or (A is not set)

Hey, everyone!
Thank you for your long-standing passion and detailed feedback on this request. We launched nested AND/OR filters in mid-2022, which successfully solved the core need for many users to create more specific, layered filters (see attached).
As we plan future roadmap cycles, we are revisiting this request to determine the most critical remaining gaps.
To help us prioritize and design the right solution, we need to understand the jobs you're trying to do that are still difficult or impossible. Could you share your specific use cases? For instance:
- Are you trying to replicate a complex query from another tool (like JQL)? If so, what does that query look like?
- What business question are you trying to answer with a filter? For example, "Show me all high-priority tasks assigned to my team that are either overdue OR due in the next 2 days."
- Are there limitations you're hitting in how you can group or combine conditions?
Your real-world examples are the most powerful tool we have for understanding your needs. The more detail you can provide, the stronger the case we can build internally for further investment in our filtering capabilities.
Excited to hear from you, thanks!

Michael Van Doorn I'm trying to replicate how Remember the Milk handles things. The syntax is very simple and it allows for "advanced" searches where you can use parentheses, etc. or just a simple interface similar to ClickUp's current interface.
On RTM, I have very complex searches for lists that I use every day. The most important one being "Daily Schedule" which is where I pick off what I'm actually going to do that day.
This is what it is (a bit complex, but can be broken down easily):
list:"urgent" OR (list:"not-urgent" AND (dueWithin:"2 week of tomorrow" OR NOT updatedWithin:"3 months"))
And all the lists referenced in this search (e.g, "not-urgent" which itself is defined (list:"inu goals" OR list:"inu non-goal") are yet other advanced searches that you can sort of guess what it is by the name. I use the Eisenhower matrix to tag all my tasks (e.g., iu = important urgent, ninu = not important, not urgent).
Basically, every morning I want to know:
- Are there any things that are urgent that I need to work on?
- Are there any tasks that are maybe not urgent, but have due dates coming up. I want to see those? This is an automatic way to use the due dates to "promote" inu tasks to iu tasks.
- I also like seeing not urgent tasks that I've not looked at in a long time (3 months). I take a moment every morning to determine if their urgency has changed. If not, I postpone it, which marks it as updated, so it disappears for another 3 months.
I use lists like I use variables in programming. That way, the boolean statement is basically English and not as complicated.

Michael Van Doorn For me, it is just difficult to create complex filters easily.
- I would like to be able to easily re-organise elements without having to delete and rebuild the filter from scratch.
- I would like to be able to set each "main level" of the filter to AND or OR, not be locked-in once I have picked one.
I understand that might be some backend limitation, but I would hope it could work it out for me rather than me having to figure out what can be quite a complex filter to get it to work.
E.g., right now, you have to make sure you get the very first filter correct, otherwise everything underneath might not quite work as expected. If you get it wrong, you have to delete and rebuild it.
AI might help with this, as well. Like if we could type in what we are after and it figure it out.

Michael Van Doorn My two main limitations right now are:
- "TEXT" - "Contains" filter option. I would like to look for exact strings of text and either include or omit them in my view. I would also like to include multiple text options in one field.
Image linked shows what I have going, JUST so I can see what are the tasks that are not filled out properly. It would be much cleaner if I could say "Does not contain" = "or ("OR", "PV", "PS", "N/A")" in an Excel-fashion. Adding or removing those options would be easier than having to create a whole new line item.
- Combination of parent and subtask filters. Eg, if parent has this, and subtask has this, then show tasks.
Example:
If parent task is active, show me subtasks with tags.

Any updates on this please Ivan Villa?

This needs to be true also for Automation Triggers!
Not being able to select multiple triggers makes the duplication of automations and creations insane.

I see this is in progress but not sure how long it has been like this. Having each line in a filter be individually selectable to be either AND or OR would greatly improve functionality. My specific example is to have a filter where the user is Me Mode AND due date is Today or Earlier OR Next 7 Days would allow me to create powerful dashboards for my team to create a single pane of glass view of their day or week and how they are progressing.

HI, Is there any update?
I have issues making compact filter. I would like to make a list of tasks that are overdue or due the next 14 days. Why ca't I add an OR nested filter if the rest is AND?

I see that this feature request is "in progress", but I wonder when it's expected to roll out? It would be incredibly helpful to be able to use both AND and OR in the same filter, or apply multiple filters to one view. Right now we are stuck having an ENORMOUS amount of top level views that could be consolidated with the use of both AND & OR in one filter.

Please, I also need a combination of and and or condition in filters. It would be so helpful.

Here's an example use case I'm trying to implement for a List View but can't: (Start Date IS Today & Earlier OR Start Date Is Not Set) AND (tags IS NOT do-over-weekend)

Merged in a post:
When using filters give the and/or option for every line
