Advanced Dependency Options
planned
Jeremy Benson
Many times when scheduling I need two tasks to finish at the same time and want to know the required start dates. I would suggest that additional dependency options other than "blocks" or "is blocking" like Start/Start Start/Finish Finish/Finish and +/- days modifiers are needed.

+1 on this as we also have a customer use case where: With many of there projects, they have use cases where a team needs to finish their testing when there is also product arriving at the factory, so we need the ability to be able to not have a start to finish dependency, it'd need to be a finish to finish or start start dependency.

I see this thread merged in several similar requests, so here's what I'm currently after:
I would like automations to be able to look at whether a dependency is given or not as a condition.
Some rules make no sense to get triggered as long as tasks are still waiting on other tasks e.g.
Thank you for your consideration.

Please also include a dedicated dependency column/field so we can quick sen dependency values as explained in this feature request here https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/dedicated-dependency-columns-for-predecessors-successors

When setting up relationships between tasks, there should be options to make different dependency types, like start-to-start and finish-to-finish.

Construction jobs are not easy to schedule in the gantt chart. Need to add COLUMNS for:
- Duration - how long the task will take, not just start/finish dates.
- Dependencies - Finish to Start should link the end of one with the beginning of the next project, lag should be a separate column (see next point). Also need SF, FF, SS.
- Lag - this is when there is time between 2 tasks that are dependent. This should be shown in a column, and be editable. Lag is already possible manually, but a column would allow us to define the amount of time between tasks.

We kindly request the ability to set task dependencies more efficiently by allowing us to input numbers directly into the task dependency field, rather than requiring multiple clicks
To illustrate the speed and convenience of this method, please refer to this video tutorial: MS Project https://youtu.be/tjaHrOwyNGU?t=58

it would also be amazing to be able to add and adjust dependencies directly in the task without having to click through the ..., then relationships, then adding them.

It would be great if there were more options under dependencies.
Blocking works for Finish to Start but please add:
Finish to Finish
