Admin visibility to private spaces, folders, lists, views
Shawn
Can we have Workspace Owner and Admins visiblity to private spaces, folders, lists?
It does not make sense the private space / list owners need to always need to add the Admins so they can run compliance auditing.

Hi everyone - just wanted to let everyone know, for those on the Enterprise plan, we do offer a Workspace setting that allows Admins to view and manage private Spaces, including taking ownership of Spaces that become inaccessible when the owner leaves the Workspace. You can read more details here: https://help.clickup.com/hc/en-us/articles/6309213140375-Configure-advanced-Workspace-security-permissions#h_01HQWK24NK2T5GJ0KGJ0ETTMA2 I know this is not a complete solve for the ask here, which is why I'm leaving this feature request open, but I wanted to highlight for anyone who may not have seen this functionality. Thanks!

Does this even make sense. The OWNER of a Space can be blocked from viewing Lists and Tasks in their Space that they are meant to own. Surely ClickUp leadership has worked in businesses before and understand the need for Compliance and Oversight. Every other day I have to pull my hair out that we didn't do better due diligence that ClickUp is just not ready for business use.

I find it fundamental and essential that the account owner has full access to all spaces, folders, lists, and tasks of all members. Otherwise, there is no one who has control over everything happening in the workspace. In my case, this issue arose because I need to change the access level of a limited member to read-only, but I am unable to do so because I don’t have access to the folder he's assigned to. As a result, ClickUp support advised me to ask the folder creator to make the change......

Hi Caroline Ginty - this still allows members to create and control private folders in these spaces so that's not a solution

Caroline Ginty - We have an Enterprise plan and currently the only way for admins to view private spaces is to add yourself as a member or owner. Not only would it be great to not have to be a member for myself, having all of the admins as members in every space adds clutter when users are assigning tasks that will never be assigned to an admin.
More importantly, the option for admins to manage private spaces is turned off by default, and it does not cover private settings below the space level. Even after discovering the setting and toggling it on, we then have to manually follow up with users and walk them through enabling admin management.

Caroline Ginty As other users have highlighted, this doesn't address private folders and lists, which cannot be managed at all by an admin, which is particularly problematic if the owner is deactivated.
Additionally, there are quite a few spaces that were owned by users that are now deactivated, and this happened before we turned on the settings of all spaces being transferrable, which makes me think those are now lost forever

Caroline Ginty I have this turned on and still people are changing permissions of lists and items so the Space Owner cannot see. Unsure if I change the Owner... do they automatically get visibility of everything in the Space again. I don't know because this just doesn't make sense. Its why when people ask me for a ClickUp recommendation I have to honestly say stay away as if I knew the issues like this it is clearly not developed with anyone with enterprise level experience or insight.

Hello! It looks like this was requested in 2020 and nothing has been actioned since?
Is there anyway we can bump it up cause there are lots of other feature requests which are being prioritised with less votes (there are lots with higher votes) but I don't understand why this has been forgotten about

ClickUp Chats!! Especially critical that users can create private chats, potentially adding other unwanted users, and admins are not able to remove these other people!

How can I help user's problems! if I can't see all private lists? , also what about if any employee left the company , how can i access his/her private lists, they already register by business mail not private mail

I can see admins pushing away from this platform without the absolutely must needed functionality. I feel a little better knowing that I sit with the other 215 people on this thread that has to reach out any time an automation template is lost in space or when auditing comes around and we have to just come up with excuses why we can't access our own stuff.

Guys, this is not serious. How can you manage a workspace without being able to see everything in it? How can I help users with their problems if I can't see their private lists? In addition, my Business Plus plan has a limit on the number of lists in one space. How do I keep track of it if I just don't see them? Please solve this problem.

I am as shocked as everyone else. I didn't even question it when I proposed ClickUp as the final choice of project management software. I was really ashamed when a bit far in the process, our project manager was not seeing everything and I had to explain to him that I'm gonna have to manually include him to every single private folder / list and not forget any new one. I was certain that the "Allow admins to manage private spaces" option would allow that.
I'm really struggling to comprehend how no one at ClickUp pushed this since day one. Implementing ClickUp and using it correctly is taking as much time as coding a new software that would do every basic thing that ClickUp doesn't do.
At least make a view in the settings to manage permissions of the whole workspace easily in a table view.
