adding pending team members to private Spaces
complete

When I invite a new team member to join ClickUp, I like them to be able to see a Space when they first create their account and log in. This allows the new user to play around with ClickUp on their own and start understanding the structure and hierarchy.
If the Space in question is a private Space, the new user must wait for an admin to add them to the Space. The admin in turn must wait for some kind of notification that the new user has created their account.
It would be helpful if we could streamline this process by allowing the admin to add a newly invited (but not yet logged in) user to a private Space. That way, once the new user creates their account and logs in, they'll automatically have access to the private Space.
Thanks for considering this change.
Bye for now,
Christian

Thanks Tarun Masani for your quick response to this request. Here are a couple questions that I still have: when I want to add a Team member to a Space, the dialog that opens is the same as for adding someone to a Team.
- If I invite an existing (or pending) Team member to join a Space, does the invitee need to accept this invitation, or are they added automatically?
- Do I need to wait for a Team member to accept my invitation to join a Space before I can start assigning them Tasks?
- Would ClickUp consider creating a different dialog for adding a member to a Space, one that basically lets me add an existing member without doing an invitation?

Crow: Hey Crow! Great questions.
1: They will be part of the space as soon as you add them. They will not be able to see anything in ClickUp until they accept your invitation to the team.
2: No you can start assigning tasks before your teammate has accepted their invitation.
3: Could you elaborate here? You can type the name of the teammate you'd like to add and that will only show members that are already on your team.

Hi Tarun Masani:
Thanks for your note. If I want to add a user to Space X, I click on the Space in the top nav, then look in the left-side nav. Towards the bottom, I see:
* "TEAM"
* a large "+" with the hover-text "add user", and
* a search bar.
I can't work out what the search bar is for, so maybe that could help me.
If I click the "+" that opens up the Team Users Settings page (see screenshot below). There's nothing on this page that says "Add a user to Space X". The page looks like it's for searching for an existing member to invite to a Team, or adding the e-mail of a non-member to invite to a Team.
It would be more straightforward for me if I could click the "+" button ("add user") and see a dialog that lets me choose the member I want to add to the team. It may be enough if the Team Users Settings page had some text like "Select the user you want to add to your Space or Team". Maybe it would also help if the page were named "User Settings (Teams and Spaces)".
Thanks for considering my feedback!

Crow: Hey there, Crow! Thank you for sharing your feedback here. To clarify, right now the + button is to invite a user to your entire team. The search bar on the left side of the screen above your teammates is for filtering for a specific teammate. As for being able to invite a user to a single Space, since Spaces are not available for guest users, you will need to make all of your Spaces private first, invite the new user, and grant them access to the Space from inside the Space settings page. Let me know if this helps here, or if there's anything else I can assist you with! :)
