Add to active sprint in automations
complete
Håvard Melvin Hjelvik
I want to setup automations that adds tasks to the active sprint. Today it is only possible to choose a specific list, but I want it to be dynamic based on the sprint functionality you guys have.

And we're live!
We hope this simple but powerful action will help save you clicks on every task you work on.
Please let us know if you have any feedback on what else you'd like to see done here. 🙏

Zach - ClickUp how does it work if there is no active sprint? Will it then pick the last indexed Sprint?

Zach - ClickUp I was excited for this feature, I've been waiting for it for a long time - unfortunately the implementation is not very good. I'm only able to ADD a task to the Active Sprint list, instead of MOVE the task to the sprint.
ADD a Task allows the task to live in multiple lists. The obvious limitation here is that now the task inherits Status from the parent/source list. My Backlog list has a different Status structure than my Sprint lists. The task cannot have a new status applied from the Sprint list without manually moving it into the Sprint list - the entire thing we're trying to automate.
This is almost useless, I can't picture a real-world use case where I would want a task to live in both a backlog AND an active sprint.
PLEASE, include the option to MOVE task to Active Sprint. I do not believe you can reasonably consider this feature request to be Closed without this critical functionality.

Please make a roadmap priority to utilize the Sprint Points field in automations. We need to be able to trigger changes to the Sprint Points field, based on a change to a custom field, and vice versa.
Several use cases:
- If Size (CF) changes to Medium, change Sprint Points to 3. (etc.)
- If Sprint Points change to 2, change Size to Small.
- If Task Type changes to Email, change Sprint Points to 5.

Zach - ClickUp, it would be great if automations could also set dates relative to the start or end date of a sprint.

Let's be more specific. There's multiple needs wrapped up in this:
- Quickly adding a task to the right sprint: I'd love to have it automatically added to the correct sprint based on the task's start date or due date if no start date is provided. Having an "active sprint" button would also save time for many tasks. This would only apply to current and future dates - if it's in the past I'm content will it staying in the current sprint.
- Needing an "active sprint" function for use in multiple situations: I have multiple Everything View filters that need to be changed weekly to only show the tasks in the "active sprint". If there was just a variable that represented the "active sprint" that would save us time every week.
- Being able to have an "active sprint" view would make it so the automations don't need to be recreated in every individual sprint view.

We have automations,
We have automatically rolled sprints.
We dont have automations automatically rolled into the next sprint.
But Why Click Up Devs? Why?
Having to duplicate automations to the active sprint, having to update the dates, and then manually copy it to the active sprint is so out of the norm for ClickUp.
Automate the automations being rolled into the next sprint please! If "active sprint" was an option it would solve the issue

Hi System Administrator , you can create a sprint template with desired automation and when there will be a new sprint it will aslo contain the automation

Hey Abdullah Babur!
Yes. We have that but I am looking more are the transition from backlogs to the current sprint. When setting up an automation from the back log, the only option is to select the active sprint "by date" from the drop down. It would be great to see the system simply recognize "active sprint" as the most recent time period

Still need a way to do this without having to use external tools like Make/Zapier/Xano

This is huge.
