Add Relative Date Offsets Between Date Fields (e.g., “X Days After Another Field”)
J
Jessica Johnson
I would like the ability to set a date or custom date field based on a relative offset from another date or custom date field.
This would enable dynamic, dependency-based workflows without requiring manual updates.
___
Core Functionality
- Configure any date or custom date field as:
- “X days/weeks/months after [another date/custom date field]”
- Support both:
- Positive offsets (after)
- Negative offsets (before)
___
Automation Support
Enable this logic within Automations:
- Action: Update field →
- “Set [Date Field] = X days/weeks/months after [Date/Custom Field]”
This allows date relationships to update automatically as upstream dates change.
___
Example Use Cases
- Construction Start = 14 days after Permit Issued
- Documentation Completed = 3 weeks after Contract Signed
- Renewal Reminder = 30 days before Lease End
___
Why This Matters
- Eliminates manual date recalculation across tasks
- Reduces errors in timeline management
- Enables scalable workflows for operations, compliance, and project tracking
- Brings lightweight dependency logic into everyday task management (without needing Gantt dependencies)
