Add Relationships modal: Filter by status or other custom field
Jake Spirek
When I click to add a custom relationship, I'd like to be able to filter out certain statuses (i.e. completed) or tasks with another criteria. Would just help to keep the list manageable when there are lots of tasks (especially completed ones).
This could either be a filter that is in the modal, or configurable in the settings of the custom relationship. But I think filtering in the actual modal would be way more flexible.

We also need this. The perfect solution would be to copy the entire filter modal of lists (nested filters, complex conditions, saved filters etc.) to the relationship field and also copy some basic functionality of a list over (adding some additional fields for context, sort by a field ASC/DESC, group by a field etc).
When working with huge task lists, it's a pain to find the correct task.
In our case, searching for a task is almost impossible. They only make sense when grouped, sorted and filtered. Only the sorted group of tasks in it's entirety makes a single task meaningful.

Hide Closed/Archived tasks from Relationships list

Please add the option to hide Closed and/or Archived tasks from appearing when searching for tasks to add in a Relationship. Showing all tickets regardless of Open/Closed/Archived status makes it very difficult to filter out outdated tickets when trying to find the right one to link via Relationship.

Improve Relationship settings (save display as count + ability to filter out closed tasks)
Jasmine Lotomau
Currently, you can choose to display related tasks as their names or as a count.
However, if I choose to display tasks as a count, go to another list and come back > the display goes back to names.
I have my client center and ticket center connected via relationship and would like to see how many tickets each client has from the list view WITHOUT needing to change the display type every time.
ASKS:
- Please add functionality to save preferred display type for relationships on each list.
- Add the ability to filter which related tasks show up based on status (that way we can filter out tickets that are closed).

Filter Relationships by Status in List

From support ticket: Filter relationships not only based on a list but by, for example, status in the list.

Filter Relationship Tasks

When picking a specific list, it would be helpful to add the ability to filter the tasks in a list by status. As a result, multiple tasks with the same name wouldn't be available. Only tasks with a given status would be.

Filter option inside the search modal when linking a relationship
Damian Connors
Ability to set filtering options (like the filtering options inside views) inside the search modal when linking relationships. This would allow you to find the relationship much faster.

YES! This would be absolutely fantastic. Right now an any-task-to-any-task relationship is the only one that will work for one of my uses, but having to search the whole task list every time is a drag. If filters could be defined on the relationship field it would be a huge timesaver.

yes, would like to be able to filter only completed tasks to add relationship and show sprint points of completed tasks.

YES. Desperately need this. The exact way that Airtable works would be perfect. E.G. to be able to relate a specific view within the relationship (so if relating to an 'account' in CU, I could add the relationship for the 'Active Accounts' view in 'Accounts').

Also, option to only allow X selections.
