Add parent task callout to subtasks in lists
complete
Chris Osdick
Subtasks often tend to be generic such as design, review, RFQ, purchase, etc. When in list view and subtasks are turned ON, you cannot identify the parent task of the subtask without clicking on it and seeing the parent at the top of the box.
I suggest you add the parent task in front of the subtask in these cases, ie task > subtask. Alternately add the parent task to the project > list above it, ie project > list > task.
This would be extremely helpful!
Thanks

This is possible by going to the list options and enabling "Subtask Parent Names"

There is an option to turn on "Subtask Parent Names" under "Customize List" -> "List Options"

Hello, is this feature ever going to be implemented or updated? Need to be able to see the Parent task without hovering, or opening tasks. Need to be able to see in calendar view. Thanks!
Seth Klusmire
This would apply to subtasks in multiple Lists as well.
"Sub-tasks should only show up as separate tasks in the list if its main task is not also in the list."
Larry Baxter
Having the ability to show PARENT in a list view of many subtasks would be EXTREMELY helpful! Beyond that a roll-up to parent tasks would also be great, letting a subtask of "Send follow-up Email" show in the view Parent->Email.

Can we at least be able to set this as a field so it'll show up? It's been three years requested. Thanks!

This would be an amazing feature for us! Super important!

This - or something similar - is so important!
I use ClickUp as a social media calendar (among many other things), and when half of my social media posts are sub-subtasks of a larger campaign that are created from massive task templates, my calendar just looks like
6/24/21 - "Social Media Post";
7/1/21 - "Social Media Post".
Showing breadcrumbs doesn't even help because it only shows the immediate parent name, which doesn't have its parent name in it.
I think adding personalization tokens like a [Parent Task Name] to subtask names would be so helpful.

I agree. It would be very helpful for me too!
