Please add advanced security options for ClickUp Docs, including:
  • “View-only” mode that prevents downloading and exporting documents
  • Tools to block screenshots and screen recording on supported platforms
Why this matters:
  1. Sensitive info protection:
    Many of us share docs with external partners, clients, or consultants, and need to ensure files aren’t distributed.
  2. Limit unauthorized sharing:
    Preventing downloads is one step, but adding screenshot and screen recording blocks would make it much harder to leak confidential materials—just like most banking, financial, and HR software now do.
  3. Legal/data compliance:
    Certain industries require full control over digital information. This feature would help with legal and compliance requirements.
  4. Match industry standards:
    Platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, and even some banking/web-based apps now offer these controls.
Real-life example:
Recently, I shared a confidential proposal via ClickUp Doc. While I could set it to view-only, there was no way to prevent copy-paste, screenshots, or a quick screen recording—meaning the file could still leave our control.
What would be great:
  • A “prevent download” and “block screenshots/screen recording” toggle in doc sharing settings
  • Works on web and, where possible, mobile/desktop apps
  • Uploaders control who can view, comment, edit, download, or capture the doc in any way
