Ability to separate or filter task activity from task comments
not on the roadmap

For tasks with a lot of activity or back-and-forth comments, it can be difficult to see the dialogue or activity. It would be helpful to separate activity on a task from the comments of a task, or have the ability to filter to see just the activity or just the comments.

Separate activities from comments

Would it be possible to separate the comments entered manually from the activity log? Currently everything is in one view in the comment section of the task. You could add a folder "Activity" for example. Then there would only be the automatically generated information about the task. (creation, changes, bots). In the comment section would only be visible the manually entered comments.

Customizable Sections in Task Activity Feed
Dylan Schwartz
Currently, ClickUp displays all task-related comments, updates, and activities in one unified activity feed. While this provides a chronological overview, it can become cluttered and difficult to follow, especially for tasks with extensive collaboration.
The proposed feature would allow users to:
Create separate sections within the activity feed for a task.
Name or rename each section (e.g., “Workflow Discussion,” “Budget Notes,” “Review Feedback”).
Add new comments directly into a chosen section, keeping conversations organized by topic.
Move existing comments between sections if needed (optional, but ideal).
Collapse/expand sections for easier navigation within long feeds.
Benefits
Helps teams keep conversations focused and easier to reference.
Reduces confusion in tasks with multiple subtopics.
Enhances collaboration by making the activity feed more structured and purposeful.
Saves time searching for specific discussions within a task.

Task Feed Separation (Comments, Emails, Activity)
Jessica Majeski
It would be incredibly helpful to have multiple different feeds within a task - one just for comments/emails, and the other for "activity" that shows everything else that changes or happens within a task. The combined feed gets so clogged up and you have to scroll a lot if the task has a lot of history and all of the "activity" is minutiae that would be better served in a secondary feed that can be accessed as needed but isn't the primary feed. Comments and emails should be the main feed.
Thank you for your consideration!

Yes! I agree with this too. It's funny to me that these are combined. Especially when in 3.0, Details, Subtasks and Action Items all have their own 'tab'. Sorting through all the notifications to get to the conversation is maddening.
Please, please, please, make Activity and Comments separate tabs.
Honestly, I think Details, Subtasks, Action Items, Activity and Comments should all be in that right side sidebar. Plutio, surprisingly, does this very well.

We already have this feature! whenever you want to filter out comments or activity you can use the activity filter. https://help.clickup.com/hc/en-us/articles/6309921223191-Task-Activity-Search-Filter
in 3.0 we are releasing smarter activity that collapses when it gets too long, allowing you to focus on the conversations

Yes! I hate having to filter for only comments every time I open the task (because there is no way to save the filtered view to show only comments). Having them separate would also work.
