Ability to see time tracked by custom field
Mike Gomez
Time reports are broken down by person. Ability to breakdown by time by a custom field, say client name or project name, would be very helpful.
Maybe something like a pivot table-esque reporting feature so you have more control over the output of reports

This would be SO helpful. I'd love to be able to visualize how much time certain task types take based on time I'm already tracking in clickup.

This feature would really be helpful in monitoring all tasks and providing reminders with the team.

Loads of templates for agencies use the client as a field and the work being done group into a field.
But the time taken widget only allows grouping to take place at a List Level.
This is needed so agencies can get a single view of a work type in a list which uses a Field for the Client and who need time taken for charging.

Yes, really wanting this!!

For us time tracking on custom fields is a must to do ability. We will be able to know exactly how many hours will be spent by project or by specific part of the job and also be able to determine if we are spending to many time in things we shouldn't

Time tracking on custom fields will help our team out massively when analysing where our resource is being utilised.

I think this is very important to show the time tracked against a specific project or against a specific client if we have them as dropdowns

I need this as well.
I am an individual consultant and use custom fields to label my tasks by client. I don't want a separate list for every client. I just need 1 list with all of my tasks for all of my clients and I need to report on time by client.
Every month I have to export a report of every single time entry then manually change them to a useable number and add them up (because the .csv export has multiple time columns that are totally unusable like the Time Tracked Text column that says '6 m' and the Time Tracked column with values like '530307'.
If I could at least get an export with useable values I could pivot the data on my own.

Pam: Hey Pam, yes, the '530307' micro seconds (I eventually figured out this is what they were!) aren't great when wanting to review time. An hour as a decimal would be much more useful like 5.25 meaning 5 hours and 15 mins.
If it helps in the meantime, you can change the micro seconds into hours as a decimal by dividing the number by 3600000 in your spreadsheet.
This is my current workaround.
Pam
Mike Gomez: Hah! Thank you for the workaround.
5.25 would be way better. That's how Toggl handles it.

Pam: agree, we also have the same issue, we have many lists to works many projects on our clickup, but we only manage time and billable in a list called TASK, on this we have all our clients and jobs and form this list we would like to control time per project, client and employee.

You can do this if each client has a separate list.
