Ability to edit Workspace Level Custom Field in the Dashboard

While custom space, folder and list level custom fields are editable from Dashboard Task Widget, for some reason Workspace level custom fields are not editable. I get asked to move the field to lower level which is not possible with Unlimited plan. Please refer to the attached screen shot of the message I get when trying to edit the custom field in Dashboard.

I have this exact issue. I have custom fields at workspace-level and although I can update the fields correctly within the list view, it doesn't pull through to dashboards, even when the field is added to the view. Serious flaw. Now I need to add additional custom fields at list level, copy all values captured to date into those new list-level fields and delete the workspace-level custom fields (and by default all the data captured so far). It's scary that this has not been addressed since you logged it in 2024.
