Ability to edit an attachment and then save it as a new version.

Currently I can view an attachment but I cannot edit it. I would like to be able to edit it.
This would be particularly useful for word, excel, pdf and image files. Even better would be the ability to upload the attachment as a new version whilst preserving the previous versions.
This is possible in confluence and wrike

This would be REALLY useful. It seems to be major flaw in usability of the product - you would really have to use it with Sharepoint or Teams and just have a link, which kind of defeats the whole purpose. Or, download, edit, reupload, and then delete or rename the prior document.

Or...similarly, be able to select a folder in Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. and have the option to save new versions ...with an increment or initials appended in that folder.
