[2018 January] Checklist : don't hide checked
complete
Sebastien Vidal
The new checklist feature is great ! But hiding a line at the time it's checked is not very logical. I think there is no value in hiding checklist items.

this is marked as complete, but how do you do it?

Zeb is there a way which option you can set as default? I can imagine some people still want to see the completed check marks.
Sydney
Hi jory scharff! Thanks for your post! You are unable to set a default at this time. Would it be beneficial to your workflow if you were able to set a default?

Sydney: I would find it greatly beneficial to disable hiding checked items. I'm constantly revealing them so I can see where I'm at in a process/task. Please consider adding a default setting to always show completed items.

I can't find the ability to toggle this on/off, am I missing it somewhere?

Agree. It
is
actually somewhat disquieting to have something disappear at the moment that it is checked.T

It would appear that once a task has (individually) requested not to hide the completed item; then it will remember that setting - for that task. [Even where the task is a recurring item to a new instance]. So what is missing is a setting that controls this as a preference.
Some people/situations will wish it hidden by default, and some will require it to remain visible when completed. Given the task already remembers the last setting it would appear not much of an addition to control that setting default either at the space, folder, list level.
[That is unless the default is already there and I've not managed to find it yet].
Please respond as this ticket - titled "Dont hide checked" - is confusing as Zeb says this is implemented in 2018.

We agree! This feature will be released today or tomorrow.

Zeb: I think it makes sense to hide the line item once it is completed (default) but you could add the option to show it even if it is checked so you can see what has been completed. Asana does something similar but handles this in a "view option" so you can go back and see what tasks or line items have been completed for a given project.

Mark W @Zeb: +1 there's value in both: for quick glance review it's easier if completed checkbox items are hidden, but for progress review it's also helpful to see the completed items. So a toggle show/hide option makes a lot of sense. Hope to see this soon!
