2 Way Linking Relationship Field
Makenzie Matthews
It would be so effective to have a relationship field be able to link 2-way. This would allow a seamless relationship between two tasks under the same relationship type. Right now, we can add the same relationship custom field into two different locations, however, when adding a relationship, from one task into another, where you add the relationship will sit in that custom relationship field, but in the linked task, it'll show as "Reference".
If the same custom field relationship is in each list, and two tasks are added with a relationship together, my thoughts are we should have the ability to show it as a two-way relationship. Organizationally, this would be exceptional.

This functionality is desperately needed. You can't even create an automation workaround. So much time gets wasted adding the corresponding relationship, and errors happen because it's not 2-way.
Further, it gets super confusing because let's say Task A is linked to Task B and Task B is linked to Task A (to create a 2-way relationship) in a field called "Repurposed".
When viewing all related items in Task A, it shows Task B under 'Relationships' > 'Repurposed' and nothing under 'References'.
BUTwhen viewing all related items in Task B, it shows Task A under 'Relationships' > 'Repurposed,' (as expected) AND under 'References', it AGAIN shows Task A (
not
expected). So in some instances, it's creating duplicate info sources, but it's not happening all the time, which makes it beyond confusing.
Plus, in 4.0, you can view linked tasks and tasks linked using a relationship field in the main section, but to view referenced tasks, you have to open the right sidebar...why aren't ALL relationships/references viewable in the same area?

PLEEEEEEEEEAAASSEEEEEEE!!!!! I might have to setup our Marketing system outside of Clickup to access this functionality.
We are adopting AI congtent planning and content ghap analysis and this missing feature is really being felt.
Also while we're discussing it - ClaudeCowork cannot influence relationship fields in Clickup. This would be a game changer

This seems like a very basic feature. When can it be added?

We need this feature ASAP, it's a core concept in Database relationship development and redundancy is literally counterproductive.

THIS!

This is a much needed feature and seems weird that its missing! I am having to build the same relationships in 4-5 places, where as the data and connections are already there so seems silly you can't see it from the other direction
