Make floating Brain Max icon follow you on virtual desktops
planned

Could you make it so the Brain Max floating icon follows you between virtual desktops?
I am sure it used to do this on 0.94 and prior.
What I mean is, if you use Windows + Ctrl + Left/Right or Windows + Tab --> Change desktop, the floating Brain Max icon should follow you to the next desktop.
This is so, if you use voice commands, you can still see it operating. Right now, it does not follow you, so you have no idea if it is working.
I am sure this worked in prior versions.

Seems to be working again, as of v0.99 on Windows! 🙌
Hopefully we can get multiple instances of Brain Max open at once, next. 🙏🙏

Thanks, Guy Mannerings! Regarding multiple instances of Brain MAX - would a Chrome Extension be useful? We're actively working on it right now.
Guy Mannerings
Ankit Mishra No, definitely not.
- Chrome is slow. It gets so slow over time and has massive memory leak issues. Have tried other similar apps that run in Chrome and they fall apart with longer chats. Looks at ClickUp itself running in Chrome - it gets so crazy slow after a while.
- I don't want to have to have Chrome open all the time for everything.
- Part of the power of Brain Max is to be able to have it open on Desktop as its own running application that you can easily navigate to. An extension does not do this.
- You can't usually have multiple extensions open at the same time, I believe?
- It's a recipe for them getting lost amongst all other Chrome windows.
I really just want to open multiple instances of the Brain Max application itself. Then you can have multiple chats open at once, keep one open for one desktop, another open for another, etc, when you are switching projects but don't want to lose where you are.

Ankit Mishra One thing that might work is having Brain Max accessible from a web address that can then be installed via PWA.
It's not ideal, as it will still suffer with all the slowness problems Chrome has. But it will mean you can at least keep it as a separate window more easily.
It will also mean it can't fully interact with desktop environment, like I don't think shortcuts will work. Dictation relies on that, and it's really useful to be able to hit a shortcut button and dictate.
Also, in theory, you could link desktop app with other apps, which you could not do with PWA. E.g., "email XYZ person" and it opens your e-mail program.
Desktop application is really far better if you can get multiple instances going.

Dean Phillips Great! Thanks, Dean!

This is becoming a bit of a pain point.
Other than the floating Brain Max icon not following you when you move virtual desktops, there is also a bug: Sometimes if you move virtual desktops and then move back, the icon disappears and never comes back until you restart the program.
I'm sure if the Brain Max icon followed you between virtual desktops, this probably wouldn't happen.
This is also linked to the idea that we should be able to open multiple instances of Brain Max so we can have different instances on different desktops. (Given as feedback in another post.)
But in any case, the floating transcription icon should follow you because that should probably only load once, no matter how many instances of Brain Max you have open.

Simon Choi Ankit Mishra This would be really helpful, as it really hurts using voice commands right now, as you have no idea if they are working without the floating icon showing.
