Since enabling ClickUp Brain (which connected Gmail via Release 3.64), the "Add to ClickUp" button inside Gmail emails no longer provides the option to attach an email to an existing task. It only opens a Brain chat window.
Previously, clicking this button presented two options:
  • Attach to task (link email to an existing task, with live sync as thread grows)
  • New task (create a new task with the email attached)
Now, both the in-email button and the Chrome Extension toolbar icon only offer "New task" or route to Brain. The "Attach to task" option has been completely removed.
Why this matters:
  • We use email attachments on tasks to keep a live-syncing thread visible to the team and to AI Super Agents as client conversations evolve.
  • Brain cannot replicate this. It can only paste a static snapshot of an email into a description, it does not create a live-linked email attachment.
  • The only workaround is to disable Brain entirely, which defeats the purpose.
Expected behavior:
  • The "Add to ClickUp" button in Gmail should still present "Attach to task" as an option alongside Brain. These are not competing features, they serve different purposes.
Environment:
Chrome browser, ClickUp Chrome Extension (latest)
Gmail (Google Workspace)
ClickUp Brain enabled
