User Story: Enable Apple Speak Selection and Typing Readouts in ClickUp Mobile

As a ClickUp mobile user with visual challenges or reading fatigue,

I want Apple’s native speech features to work inside ClickUp,

so I can hear selected text and receive readouts while typing.

Problem

ClickUp mobile supports full screen readers like VoiceOver.

That approach reads entire screens and UI elements.

It slows work and increases cognitive load.

It does not meet the needs of users who rely on selective speech and typing feedback.

Current Impact

• Users cannot hear highlighted text only

• Entire screens are read unnecessarily

• UI labels interrupt comprehension

• Typed text provides no spoken confirmation

• Errors increase during data entry

Expected Behavior

• Highlighted text triggers Apple Speak Selection

• Only selected text is spoken

• Typed characters, words, or sentences read aloud when system typing feedback is enabled

• Behavior follows iOS Spoken Content and Typing Feedback settings

• Text selection works in task descriptions

• Text selection works in comments

• Text selection works in Docs

• Text selection works in Chat

• Apple Speak Selection menu appears on highlight

• Only selected text is spoken

• Native iOS typing readouts function during text entry

• No full screen narration required
