Don't use Clipboard for Talk to text
Simea Merki
I use BrainMax Talk to text, but before that, I used Wispr Flow. One small feature I really miss from Wispr Flow is that it does not save the text I dictate to the clipboard. For example, I could copy a link, dictate the text, and then add that link where I needed it. Now I always have to dictate first, then go back again to copy the link. I think not using the clipboard was way more intuitive.

I have mixed feelings on this. Sometimes I find the clipboard feature really useful, other times I don't.
I would lean towards it being more useful than not, though.
That being said, I mostly use talk-to-text to "type" in to the field where my mouse cursor is. The problem is if you forget to click, and then it pastes nowhere. In that case, the clipboard feature is useful.
Also, Windows has a built-in clipboard history feature that can get around the issue (Windows key + V), and there are options for Mac, too. So maybe this is not even an issue.
I can see the use in this being a user setting.

I came here to leave feedback almost exactly like what you have written here.
Ironically, I was using Brain Talk-to-Text for a few weeks, and it had an outage last week, so I tried out some others. I'm currently using Wispr Flow, and it has a few issues, but the one thing that it absolutely gets right is the clipboard use.
n fact, I can't go back to Brain Talk-to-Text now that I'm spoiled. Brain puts every last thing you say into the main clipboard, which overwrites whatever you already had in the clipboard and, as you say, totally destroys workflow. I use Alfred, so I have a persistent keyboard, but the extra keystrokes aren't going to fly.
Wispr Flow has a perfect solution to this, which is that it stores dictated text in a secondary clipboard → Command-Control-V. If Brain talk to text adopted this, I would be back to using it, but this one feature means I will be using a different one (currently Wispr Flow).

Totally agree! There should be at least the option to turn off the automatic saving to short term memory/ clipboard.
Simea Merki a quick workaround I can suggest: I always use https://www.raycast.com where you can easily access the clipboard history of your Mac. It is still an annoying workaround but it makes working with ClickUp Brain Max a little easier

Sven Zimmermann Ah that's nice, thank you! I'd love to test it that way!
