Take me right to the message in the Channel and don't open thread view when clicking on a URL, notification, or Channel searching

Every time I click a notification or comment URL in Chat, I get taken to the thread view. I understand that clicking it and opening the thread could be useful for replying, but it disrupts the flow of messaging if I have to click out of the thread to continue the conversation in the Channel and not reply in the thread.

If you search for individual words in channels or chats, the search unfortunately only throws out the individual message, but it would be helpful to be able to jump to the point in the chat history so that you can read the associated messages that have been written.

Enable Chat Search Results to Jump to the Exact Message Date/Time

When I search within a chat (by keyword, phrase, or person), I can see the matching messages in the search results, but there’s no way to jump directly to that message’s location in the full chat thread.
It would be very helpful if clicking on a search result would:
- Open the related chat and automatically scroll to the exact date/time of that message, and
- Optionally highlight the message briefly so it’s easy to find in context.
This would make it much easier to revisit old conversations, reference past decisions, and follow up on action items in long-running chats.

Please notify me when this is done should be high priority imo

On open thread, scroll to latest

I notice that when I open a thread, say from a DM in Chat, the view that opens is the start of the thread, as opposed to the most recent messages.
It would be preferable for the most recent messages to be shown as opposed to the original message when opening a thread.

Hey Cece Schweitzer! This is coming very soon, hold on tight! We'll not be opening the thread view and instead taking you right to the actual comment that was created (unless of course the comment itself is a threaded reply).
For now, I've updated the name of your feature request!
