Rollup Comments in Task Activity into Chat
Shawn Weber
Problem:
Task comments are essential for tracking discussions, but they’re limited to the task level. This makes it challenging to follow key conversations across related tasks when managing projects at higher levels like Lists, Folders, or Spaces. At a minimum, rolling up to the List level would be a great start!
Proposed Solution:
1) Enable a comment rollup feature, where comments from child tasks appear in parent-level Activity streams (List, Folder, Space).
2) Include metadata (task name, author, timestamp) for clarity.
3) Add a toggle to show or hide child-task comments at higher levels.
4) Preserve threaded comments in the rollup to maintain context.
5) Allow filtering by user, task, or keyword, and sorting by most recent or most active.
Use Cases:
Team Leads: Track key discussions across tasks without opening each one individually.
Project Stakeholders: Stay updated on project discussions without diving into granular task details.
Remote Teams: Simplify communication by providing a centralized view of task-level conversations.
Why This Matters:
This feature would save time, ensure important discussions aren’t missed, and enhance visibility at every level of a project. If this sounds valuable to your team, please upvote and share your thoughts!

I would love to see this feature implemented as well. By default, I'd consider having comments roll up from subtasks into the parent tasks and into parent lists, with an option to have them roll up further into spaces.
