Restricting Posting in Channels

Currently, each channel is related to a space etc which is fine but the main channel which is created by default the company adds everyone in it who are users of any permission in ClickUp with no posting restrictions. It would be good to be able to decide on the default channels that will have access and restrict permissions on what users can do in those channels. This won't apply to all channels as the permissions will already add some restrictions but is more for the company channels that everyone has access too. It may be that you work with 3rd parties who access occasionally and there is no requirement for them to view or post in the company default channel.

Yes, this is a MAJOR issue.
We have a number of "Guests" in our ClickUp who are clients, completely unrelated from each other. EVERYONE "has access" to the main, default Workspace chat which is public. This is a huge problem for us.
I tried clicking around everywhere to try to change the permissions of this chat, but I can't.
We need more siloed chats and more controls over permissions.

I wanted to create a workspace-wide channel for the members of my team. So intuitively I created one on the Workspace-level, and didn’t check the mark saying Private channel. This led to creating a channel, where all members AND guests has been added (under „have access”) to my surprise.
So I wanted to remove it, rename it, move it elsewhere or change the access settings. None of it worked, which is terrifying – concerning privacy. Especially because I named the channel „Finances”. 😳
Now every guest of my organization can possibility find this chat in the chat browser and follow it?
At least what I wanted to do was to rename it. And the function is there. But every time I rename the channel, it goes back to „Finances” after a few seconds. Why?… 😭
I am the workspace admin, so I should have full control, that I don’t have. These are basic functions, not something for the Enterprise level.
I got the new chat function yesterday and was playing around with it for a couple of hours now, being amazed how everything is well thought through and was excited 🥳 to introduce it to my team and guests. I was about to recreate our Slack hierarchy to move from Slack completely.
But now I am worried. 🫣

Thanks for leaving feedback!
We're actively restricting the general/Workspace Chat to only members, admins, and Workspace owner.
We'll have posting permissions for any Chat soon!

Brendan W - I still have this problem. I posted a comment above here. We have a "Public" default Workspace chat which is accessible by every single member and guest. This is a huge issue as all our guests are clients and they should NOT see each other.
The DMs are a problem too. Everyone can see and access everyone. Need more controls here too.

Chris Moore: Hey, there! We're working to resolve this still as I mentioned before!
Guests will be able to only DM who they have access to very soon.

Brendan W - So glad that all of this is being worked on right now. We simply can’t have clients seeing each other, etc.
