Import Slack to existing ClickUp Chats

The biggest issue preventing our team (and many others) from finally leaving Slack is that the import feature does not:
• Import into existing Chats; or
• Import as a new native Chat
The current import feature imports Slack channels as separate lists (weird) instead of actual Chats. This means we have to manage native Chats as well as weird lists that we have to remember are chats.
This is confusing for team members and creates enormous clutter. When importing an entire Slack workspace with over 100 channels, it makes it utterly unmanageable.

The "Import from Slack" feature doesn't really hold much value for us if it can't import into actual ClickUp Chats. Importing as a list is quite pointless and very difficult to continue conversations as it's completely separate from Chat.
Will the "Import from Slack" feature soon allow for Slack channels to be imported to a selected ClickUp chat (instead of as a list)?

Although I know importing is not done via API, I can see the infrastructure for targeting an existing chat as the destination for a Slack import is there...
Surely this isn't too big of an iteration on the current import feature?

Brendan W I really would love to see something to happen here after so many months as my Slack subscription renews in May – and I would love to be able to save several thousand Euros by actually moving my company messaging from Slack to ClickUp lol
It is in your interest (and in the interest of an amazing working ClickUp BrAIn) that ClickUp users really can get their work done in just one system (ClickUp).
I would even be willing to move from Slack to ClickUp Chat before you even have a native desktop chat app; but a reliable import of existing chat data is definitely a must

Brendan W no, I really just want to import a Slack-channel into a ClickUp Chat standalone (!) channel. That is what I need.
There are some people on my team who want to stay in Slack for whatever reasons and it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to convince them for ClickUp Chat if the transition doesn't work smoothly.
Many of my teammates do not understand the ClickUp Chat "list channels" logic at all, so it would be very helpful if I could transfer existing Slack channels 1:1 into ClickUp Chat.

Echoing every other sentiment here – was really looking forward to centralizing to Clickup, finally leaving Slack behind, and getting our clients to as well – but, without historical import to existing channels, there's no point.

We also need this feature to allow merging of channels so we can centralize or combine the separate imported slack chats back into the ClickUp Folder Chat Channel

We urgently need this feature to be prioritized! We're losing hours and more hours of productivity with two apps that need workarounds to work.

This functionality is vital. We can't leave behind years worth of conversations about projects and clients, so without this functionality, we can't move our chat from Slack.
And if we can't move our chats from Slack, there's no point upgrading to AI Max.
This is costing you money. Come on guys... Brendan W , any idea of when this is planned for? It looks to be almost a year old now 🙏🏻

Brendan W Was trying the new import, but that is not very convenient. It is basically an all or nothing thing, with the only exception that you can select channels.
If I create a new chat, I am prompted with the option to import from slack. It would be awesome if in this flow, you can select a single slack channel to be imported into that clickup chat channel.
And it would only ask to map users that were active in that channel. That would make the workflow much easier and the hurdle to move slack to clickup in a more manageable way.
PS: Are you compatible with: https://www.backupery.com/products/backupery-for-slack/ Benefit of using this tool would be that it includes files (I think), but especially it can support private channels and even dm's (with a bit of work).

Are there any updates? Without a robust import feature nobody will be able to switch from Slack to ClickUp Chat as there is too much information "locked" in Slack (what also prevents ClickUp AI to work even more superior).

Brendan W Tadej Jevševar Zach Actively trying to get my agency to switch and one of the big selling points was being able to import slack, only for me to realize that I cannot import into chats associated with folders, it can only be imported as a new list in a space. What a bummer. Could be one of the things that kills this transition. Please find a way to fix this!!! need to get my agency to #CutTheSlack Please provide an update!!!!!!
