Different push notification sounds for Chat VS task & inbox
building now
Peter Ratkay
We really want to differentiate the sounds of a task and chat since our "tasks" sound is related negative since it's reminders for dues or that something needs to be fixed. We need this before we change over to chat so the notifications for chat is something that's new, positive and does not physiologically makes them stressed. And also makes them understand what is a message and what is a task.

Hey, everyone! We're actively building this and hope to launch it to you soon!
Just to confirm, would you all like a different sound for Chat notifications, and a basic sound for all other notifications? Or would a different sound for Chat, when you're mentioned by other users, be of more value?

Brendan W YESSSSS. Can't wait. I would say one sound for chat notifications, a basic sound for all other notifications.
Also, I know I (and I think others) have made a UI suggestion to have floating chat conversations similar to Messenger. Is that being considered as well? For me, the visual is actually more important than the audio because my meetings schedule makes it unlikely that I will hear a notification when it comes in.

Maybe you could have a section where you can select a specific Sound to be used in different areas, like Important notifications, Urgent notifications, Chat messages, Group messages, Assigned comments... and so on
I dont know if this might be out of the scope but I think that would be the best way so anybody can customize it
Brendan W
Carolyn McKinney Thank you for the feedback! There is a separate feature request that you can upvote for "standalone Chat app" or "pop up Chat windows" which sounds like what you're asking for!
Brendan W
Josue Lony Yes! Picking your own sound is something we want to add in the future, but not immediately in the short term.
Thank you for the feedback!

Specific notifications for chat (that clearly separate chat notifications from standard system, mail and browser notifications)
Verner Carew
Currently, the chat notifications are going unnoticed (at least particularly for me), as I receive a lot of notifications via email, browser and system. Vhat notifications come in the same notification bubble, using the same notification sound, and it really does not allow me to differantiate chat notifications (which I'd consider more urgent, immediate or pressing), from other notifications I might be receiving from tasks where I am tagged or mentioned (which I would most likely circle back later)
In a nutshell: Could chat notifications have specific characteristics (distinctive sound or look) that allows identifying them immediately?

Chat Sound Notifications on iPhone

Please provide sound notifications on an iPhone. We can toggle on desktop sound notifications and even get chat sound alerts on an iPad, but on the phone, the chat alert flashes across the screen if you're looking at it but no sound.

Customize Chat Notifications Pop Up & Sounds

Current all clickup notifications are set to the same. Chat should have an option pop-up and sound differently on notifications
than task notifications as these are typically urgent/high priority communications

Separate notification sound for chat

It's important to be able to have independent controls for notifications and their sounds for chat so it's easy to tell when there's a message instead of a general clickup notification

I would love if the chat notifications were actually visible on the Chat-icon instead of on the Home-icon in the navigation (the little red dot indicating new notifications). You can easily ignore the Home notifications if you have a lot of them, and then miss important chats.
We currently use Teams for all intern communication and cannot make the switch to ClickUp Chat before we are certain the notifications work just as well.
