Allow Admins or more users (who didn't create the Channel) to modify it
building now

Seems only the creator of a channel is able to add members and change settings, like rename it. We also can't see who created the channel to ask them - and they may have left the business. Need to be able to have admins change/take ownership so we don't keep needing to replace channels with new ones.

Allow Admins and Owners to Change Channel Privacy Settings in ClickUp
Shoaib MT
Right now, only the person who created a channel in ClickUp can change it from public to private or the other way around. This can be a problem if that person is not available or has left the company.
We’d like to request a feature that lets Admins and Owners also change a channel’s privacy settings, no matter who created it.

Admins Ability To Change Channel Names
Angela Wilson
Please allow Admins to change Chat Channel names instead of restricting it to ONLY allow the person who created it to have the ability to adjust it. We have removed team members from the company and it's such a hassle logging in as them and keeping those emails open.

Whenever a channel name is updated, we want an alert that shows who updated it and when.

I need to create a bunch of channels for our team, but I need to remove myself from many of them. I tried a workaround where I have a separate account that I created the channels with. Then I removed the separate account from the workspace. However, when I added the separate account back into the workspace, it regained ownership. So now, instead of me being able to take over this administrative task, I have to break it out and have others make them.

Rebecca Lambert: Sorry you're running into this workflow issue - thank you for your feedback!
Brendan W
Rebecca Lambert: Sorry, I just read your feedback again and I realized that you should just be able to unfollow the Channel so they don't appear in your sidebar. Having them be visible to you is the problem, correct?
Rebecca Lambert
Brendan W No, having them accessible to me is the problem. I should not be able to locate them at all.
Brendan W
Rebecca Lambert: Is this because they are private Channels you're creating for other users, and you shouldn't be part of them? Trying to get more information to understand your use case!
Rebecca Lambert
Brendan W Yes, that is correct!
Brendan W
Rebecca Lambert: Thank you!

Planned, stay tuned!

Brendan W pleaseeeeeeeeee i am begging you this would be God sent!! Thank you!!
Brendan W
Angela Wilson: To be honest, i'm not quite sure why I said this planned because you can already rename locationless Channels today!
Location-based Channels, or those tied to a Space/Folder/List, cannot be renamed separately from their parent.
What were you looking to do?
Angela Wilson
Brendan W Hey Brendan, so if my team member creates a chat channel or private channel-right now only SHE can rename and add/remove people. Is there a way ALL admins can have permissions to do this? This would save us so much time if only admins were allowed to do so.
Brendan W
Angela Wilson: Yes! You're looking for this post: Allow Admins or more users (who didn't create the Channel) to modify it
I'll merge the feature request we were commenting on into that one!
Angela Wilson
Brendan W yes please, it's a bit urgent so I'm hoping we can get this going asap. Slack and other chat softwares allow admins to do this so please let us know if this is something that can happen.
Brendan W
Angela Wilson: We are working on it :)
