The message or post that is sent should include a link to the task that triggered the automation.
Enhancements could include things like:
- When the automation is triggered, prompt the user with a window to include more context for the message that will be sent.
- Allow the option to tag specific users that are following that list as part of the message/post.
- Allow the ability to @mention all users that are part of that list or message/post

Inbuilt Automations for ClickUp Chat

There shud be triggers and actions which are based on new ClickUp chat in the inbuilt automations in ClickUp. We shud be able to send things on specific channels / direct chats based on activity on ClickUp lists and more.
And based on activity / mentions / assigning comments on ClickUp chat, we shud be able to trigger actions on lists/ other places.
Basically automations for ClickUp chat without using third party tools like Zapier.

Sorry for the late update! You're now able to use Automations to send a message to a Channel or send a message to a DM!

Couldn't we also choose the recipient of the “send a direct message” according to the assignee, or any custom “person” field? The choice made by a particular user within an automation makes no sense, I think

Dean Phillips Just saw the "Send a channel message" and "Send a direct message" commands. Woohoo! No more custom n8n workflows. However, the formatting could be improved. The current task description format gets lost in the automation.

Really looking forward to seeing this feature come about! We're waiting for the task-to-chat-message automation to get "collective" notifications for new tasks in the form of messages that we can react to and comment on.

I up this! We're also waiting for this feature before switching away from Slack. We don't want to get in the rabbit hole of Zapier/n8n.

Also important would be to enable that within a list, if a new user is assigned to a task, we could automatically add him/her as follower of the chat of the list.

This is a must. We have a bug reporting form which creates tasks but we lack the ability notify the team via the chat
