Automatic creation of action items as a task from a doc (AI Notetaker)
building now
Maik Busch
I would like the AI Notetaker to create the action items from a meeting directly as tasks in ClickUp - even if that would only be possible in a personal list for now.

Automatically link new meeting notes to task
Daniel Høiberg Lambrecht
In the planner i can add tasks to a meeting/event in the calendar. But the doc with the meeting notes are not automatically linked to that tasks afterwords. we need it to link automatically as the meeting notes will be specifically for those tasks. and as standard automations cannot be triggered by doc creations we cannot do this in any way?

Hey everyone! 👋 Thanks for all the upvotes and feedback on this — we're actively building it and want to make sure we get it right.
One of the key decisions we're making is how action items created from meeting notes should be typed and organized as tasks. We'd love your input!

Takes ~2 minutes. Your answers will directly shape how this feature works.
Thanks! 🙏

Can a tagged Action Item in Meeting Notes be turned into a Task by or for the person attached with the ampersand?

AI Notetaker - Suggest task creation/updates based on notes
Giovanni Segar
I've built myself an AI agent that can create and update tasks in ClickUp based on a prompt. I've copy/pasted the AI Notetaker notes including transcript into the agent and told it to create/update tasks based on the notes, and it does a really good job.
It seems like a natural next step to build in this kind of agentic workflow where each next step can be created into tasks along with context from the call as the description.
Using semantic/vector-based search, it's also possible for the AI agent to determine if those action items are related to an existing task, and add a subtask or update that task instead of creating a new one.
For the interface, I'm imagining a "Suggest tasks" button on the AI Notetaker summary. When you click it, AI will process and figure out what tasks it wants to create and what tasks it wants to update. Then it could display a window showing which tasks it intends to create and what it intends to update. You could check a box next to each one or accept all. This gives the best of both worlds: quickly take action with AI, but have granular control to avoid messing up your workspace with junk tasks.

Request automatic linking of AI Notetaker notes to originating task for calendar events
Vikram C
Please add a feature that automatically links the AI Notetaker meeting notes Doc to the ClickUp task that was used to create the corresponding calendar event. This would streamline meeting documentation and make it easier to find relevant notes directly from the task, improving workflow efficiency.
Currently, users have to manually copy and paste the Notetaker Doc link into the task. Automating this process would save time and reduce the risk of missing important meeting documentation.

It's hard to understand why this isn't a thing already. The UX implies that it would already do this once you associate a task with the meeting.

I like this idea! Our workflow is similar (but with Checklist items on the task the meeting is related to).related to the meeting
Dimitri Weslosky
Any update on this? Currently, the AI Notetaker creates a small checklist, but I would love the option for it to create tasks and we "confirm" those tasks to get added to our list (rather than creating tasks our of the checklist items).
Alex Lashkov
Dimitri Weslosky we are now working on our roadmap and this is the popular request. We most likely will hooks Notetaker up with Agents to make it more efficient from day 1!

Feature Request: Live Sync Between AI Meeting Notes and Meeting Note Tasks
S
Sylvan Schurwanz
I’d like the ability to move or link an AI Meeting Note (ClickUp Doc) into a Meeting Note task so that:
The content of the meeting note is reproduced in the Description section of the task.
A live link is maintained, so any updates made in either the Doc or the task’s Description are automatically reflected in both locations.
This would eliminate manual copy-paste, ensure a single source of truth, and makes the information more accessible than an attachment to a task.

What if we want the note/summary AS WELL AS the action items? For example, I want to watch the part of the meeting where something specific was talked about.
Alex Lashkov
Misael Rodriguez you can do this with the video, or do you want to have timestamps that would bring you to specific video/audio moment?
Misael Rodriguez
Alex Lashkov yes similar to Fathom. Action items are time stamped where I can get additional context if necessary. We’re doing this via api and automation now using fathom. Ideally, the note taker creates a summary with the full vide and transcript and action items are automatically linked to that meeting but can live separate.
Alex Lashkov
Misael Rodriguez I see, that makes sense. Thanks for the input!
Another question, do you ever use notetakers that do no bot transcribing? Would you be interested in this kind of mode?
Misael Rodriguez
Alex Lashkov mind explaining more?
Alex Lashkov
Misael Rodriguez there are some tools that do local transcribing without the bot joining the call. Do you use smth like that?
Misael Rodriguez
Alex Lashkov oh yes. Like granola. That’d be cool too.
Alex Lashkov
Misael Rodriguez what specifically you like about Granola? Like top three features of it for you?
Misael Rodriguez
Alex Lashkov I don’t use Granola I use fathom only
Alex Lashkov
Misael Rodriguez: and what are your fav tings about it?
Alexandre Felix
Alex Lashkov I use this feature a lot with Fireflies, through the Chrome extension. That would be very useful. It only records the audio, but it already generates the summary and transcript, in addition to the timestamps.
