AI Notetaker in Urdu!

The notetaker should have Urdu added to its languages. All the meetings and sync calls that we have show up notes in Hindi! This is not our language, and it is extremely discriminatory to disregard a whole language and merge it into another which may seem similar. Please note that Hindi and Urdu are very different languages when expressed in writing as well as when spoken. This is a very partisan and non-exclusive approach towards a global audience. I hope prompt action will be taken on this, and moving forward, our transcripts can be available in URDU.

Fizza Abbas hey there, and sorry for the delay - we were making our internal tests. What we were able to find out is that auto-detection often picks Hindi because spoken Hindi and Urdu are linguistically very similar (both derive from Hindustani), so the model can’t reliably distinguish them from audio alone, basically it is guessing.
This should get fixed when we introduce language selection setting that will tell the Notetaker to what language default. This is not on the immediate priorities list though, but it is flagged!
