We are actually planning to do this from within the Notetaker settings in ClickUp, not via additional extension. What do you think?
Reuben Helmuth
Alex Lashkov, I just want to easily/quickly start recording an in-person meeting, without needing to go digging.
Alex Lashkov
Reuben Helmuth well, having to install an additional app to do so looks like digging to me..
Roman
Alex Lashkov any way to start a notetaker would be welcome.

Rachel Robinson
Alex Lashkov any additional setting would be fantastic! The notetaker as it is today is really difficult to use for a series of reason - all stemming from limited settings
Camille Asselin
Alex Lashkov I feel like adding it to the chrome extension would make it way simpler. Like Reuben says, the point is to have a quick access to the tool when in a hurry.
I feel like adding a Notetaker button here would work well, as some other options such as screenshots, notepad and time tracking are already implemented here:
Alex Lashkov
Roman gotcha, then this is in progress already!
Alex Lashkov
Camille Asselin most of the users do not have the extension and making them to install only for this one notetaker-related thing does not look right for v0 of this feature. We need to deliver value to the most users in the easiest way.
Putting this somewhere within the CU platform solves this better at the time, but in the future yeah, I agree, extension might be good option!
Alex Lashkov
Rachel Robinson understood. What other settings are you missing, btw?
R
Rachel Robinson
Alex Lashkov I'd love to see the option to:
- auto share notes with all attendees (company setting option as well)
- auto share notes with everyone in clickup so anyone can see what happened in a meeting that week with the option to mark some meetings as private
- turn off notes appearing in my inbox (it creates so much noise, I'd love for this to be a company setting)
- turn on notetaker for my entire organization vs each person having to own it
Alex Lashkov
Rachel Robinson auto share with the whole company meaning people will receive a link to it regardless of being on the calendar invite/attending the meeting or that if someone who was on the call would share the link, anyone from the company would be able to view the transcript/notes?
R
Rachel Robinson
Alex Lashkov anyone from the company can review the transcript/notes. So they're searchable in the doc AI notetaker space. I might want a quick high level of what happened in a meeting without bothering my team with the question. If i could see the notes, then I can do it on my own.
Alex Lashkov
Rachel Robinson gotcha, it is the way we are thinking of implement that when we work on bot deduplication. The approach is finalized, the dev kicks in soon
Blake Whittle
I’d go a step further and simply have a “record” button to record manual meetings such as slack calls or in person meetings.
Alex Lashkov
Blake Whittle I am thinking of adding this to the Notetaker settings. We are close to start working on this one
Joe
Alex Lashkov Would work as a stop gap, but ideally this should be part of Clickup's extension.
Might want to work this into the new extension: https://clickup.canny.io/browser-extension/p/new-chrome-extension
Alex Lashkov
Joe at some point, but def not in the early days of the extension, honestly.
But in the future this can be a surface that allows access to not only notetaker but clips and other stuff we have. Just need to understand how to make this in a lightweight way
