Keep location headers expanded
complete
Siobhan Wheelan
We use the list information (now called header) for important information, SOPs etc. in the new UI this information gets collapsed easily and often unintentionally and the toggle to expand it was not intuitive and difficult to find.
IMO the header information should always default to expanded. It should only collapse if I very intentionally hide it. And when I return to a location it should revert to the default.
Also, the toggle to expand/hide should be next to the header information icons (where we see the buttons for location assignee/color/etc)

This was released a few weeks ago. We now remember the expanded or collapsed state on a location basis.
On top of this, in the near future, we will be releasing an option to have the full task description show like it did on 2.0.

Dean Phillips Am I right in thinking that the intended behaviour for the List Description Header is to remember what you do for each View type? I seem to remember seeing an update about that, I think.
I am finding that one of my Doc views does not remember that I have the Header expanded, so each time I navigate away and come back, it is collapsed again.

Guy Mannerings: no it is for each location, not the view. Doc views will always be collapsed. We don’t have plans to enable that.
We will be adding an optional widget you can show at the top of a views though, so you’ll have the full description :)
Guy Mannerings
Dean Phillips: Ah, I see. Are the plans to make it for each view? Any particular reason this is not enabled for Docs views? Seems to be the odd one out!
Would it be possible to use this widget to just show the title in big font (like with the expanded header right now)?
Long story short, I really like the big List title above each view - it makes me know exactly what I am looking at when combined with the view's tab.
Once collapsed, my brain doesn't always know what I am looking at straight away, because there is no clear title. That's why I like it big all the time. It's actually one of my favourite things about 3.0!
Dean Phillips
Guy Mannerings: No we don't have plans to add it to views

Dean Phillips Just to add - I have actually removed all my List descriptions just so I can have the expanded big List name, but without then having to see the full List description.
I would love it if there was a way to expand in steps instead, so I could keep List descriptions, but not always have to see them just so I can have the big title. So you could press expand header once to show the big title, then press it again to show the description.
Do you think this could ever be an option - to just show the big title, but not the full description, unless you click again or click another button?
Guy Mannerings
It would also be great to have the ability to just have the Header title big, without expanding the full header, so it is clearer what location you are looking at - feedback.clickup.com/v3-feedback/p/keep-header-title-list-name-big-even-if-the-header-is-not-expanded

In 2.0, when you scrolled down a List, the header List description moved up the page and out of the way.
List description headers in 3.0 are stuck in place when you scroll down the List, meaning only the bottom portion of the screen is usable for scrolling the List.
This is really annoying as it means we have far less screen real estate to use.
This means you are forced to choose between having the List description header open, or being able to see the List in a usable size and over the whole screen. In 2.0, you could have both, as you could just scroll down until the List description was off screen.
Please can you revert how this works and make the List description scroll up the screen when you scroll down?
Guy Mannerings
Yes, the Header descriptions in 3.0 should have an option to be expanded/shown by default, rather than default collapsed and having to always open them.
I would always prefer to see information than to not and having to remember to search for it (i.e., in this case, remembering to expand the header every time).
Would love to see defaults per Workspace/Space/Folder/List/User-level. But, at a minimum, at least Workspace level would be great.
Even better would be if it remembered what I had set on the View the last time I viewed it. Like it could save the View when you expand/collapse the header, in the same way it does when you make changes to the shown custom field columns.

I absolutely disagree as a "normal" user! This will need to much space!

To add to this, not only keep them expanded, but please have them scroll with the page. By suddenly disappearing after a certain amount of scroll, it's really distracting and unnecessarily busy.
