Set Sprint Index
Maguelone Fritsch
I just tried to create a new sprint folder and set the first sprint on the same index as our other sprints (Sprint 15 for 31/07/23 to 12/08/23) but ClickUp won't let me choose to start on Sprint 15, I'm forced to start on Sprint 1.
I had to duplicate another sprint folder without the tasks to get what I want.
I don't understand why it was possible before and not anymore. It is useful, we need this feature.

Ability to reset sprint index within existing sprint folder settings

We use sprint folders for our teams departments, such as "marketing team".
Our sprint index is based on the week number (ie Sprint 52), and now we're in a new year I need the next sprint to start from 1 again (ie Sprint 1) so all pending tasks can roll over as normal.
We don't want to create a new Sprint Folder, we just want it to continue but using a fresh index sequence.

So apparently ClickUp doesn’t let you set the starting index when creating a Sprint Folder. But here’s a workaround:
Create a new Sprint Folder, delete all the sprints that were created automatically, then create your first sprint by clicking “+ Create Sprint.” That’s where you can choose what number the sprint index should start at.
Really bad UX, but it works. Only took me a year to figure out.

I agree, we need more flexibility in sprint indexing. We begin our sequence each calendar year, it would be great to be able to display this.

I just tried to setup a weekly sprint folder the starting {INDEX} number has been removed from the create sprint modal. There is a time-consuming manual workaround that has to be repeated every week.
Ideally, returning the previously deployed starting {INDEX} field to the sprint modal will solve everything.

This seems to have been resolved now. When you create the sprint folder and want to create the first sprint, you can set the index of the first one.

Milad I still don't have that box
Milad
Bean I think it shows it to you when you create a new sprint folder that has no sprints in it. Try setting up a new space to see if you see the option. If you do, then you can debug further where to find it on your existing space.

I had the same issue. I would like to set the index number freely relating to calendar weeks. In our projects, sprint duration is one week, which corresponds with calendar weeks. When a project starts in let's say calendar week 15, I want to be able to set the index number for the first sprint to 15 when creating a new sprint folder. Now I always have to start with sprint 1. It was possible before. Why kill a feature?
I can manually rename sprints but this is not the same.

I agree, we need this in our daily workflow. ClickUp also needs to support some way to reorganize sprints into folders and have them number correctly, especially for archived sprints.
I need the same "new year = new sprint numbering" as Phil, but I would create separate folders for the old/archived sprints. Right now I have to convert old sprints to lists, which is rather annoying.

Also have the ability to edit the Index number to jump forward and back as needed.
