Got inspired over the current challenge of accessing the notepad. I feel that adding action buttons above the existing "New Task" button could help minimize the number of taps to get to where you want to be.
Currently, tapping the new "More" button in the bottom navbar pops up a menu and shows all of the action buttons. From there, my idea is that you can add action buttons into your quick-access "sidebar."
  • Cooldown (2–3s) minimizes buttons to tabs
  • Tap on tabs to preview all icons. Tap again on an icon to open its dedicated screen.
  • Swipe on one tab/button to open its dedicated screen.
  • Holding a tap while scrolling keeps the buttons minimized as tabs. Letting go of the tap previews them until the cooldown minimizes them again.
  • Bonus (animation): When opening a screen from the sidebar, the requested icon floats to the top while the background color morphs into a header.
See attached mockup concept for notepad and action button accessibility.
