Despite recent political events, the Russian language remains one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and is used far beyond the borders of Russia. It is relevant to a large and diverse user base, regardless of citizenship or nationality.
– Over 260 million people speak Russian worldwide
– Around 150 million are native speakers
– Russian ranks among the top 8 most spoken languages on the planet
– It is an official language of the United Nations and is widely used in business, education, and daily life across many countries
Russian is extensively spoken outside of Russia:
– More than 4.5 million Russian speakers live in Germany
– Over 1.3 million in Israel
– Nearly 900,000 in the United States
– In Kazakhstan, over 11 million people speak Russian
– It is also commonly used in Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, and other CIS countries
Ukraine deserves special mention. Despite politically charged efforts in recent years to phase out Russian, approximately 13 to 15 million Ukrainians still use it in everyday communication. According to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2020), up to 43% of the population used Russian as their primary household language. The wave of linguistic hostility has gradually faded, and more companies are once again recognizing the actual languages spoken by their audience.
A great example: In April 2024, Reddit officially introduced Russian as a supported interface language for the first time in its history. As a result, the platform saw a clear increase in engagement and growth in its Russian-speaking user base. Reddit currently ranks 9th among global social networks with approximately 850 million monthly users.
In light of all this, adding Russian to your app interface is not a political gesture — it’s a practical move that:
– Significantly expands your potential user base
– Improves conversion and user experience in dozens of countries
– Acknowledges the needs of Russian-speaking users living outside of Russia
– Aligns with the approach of the world’s leading digital platforms
To the ClickUp team: supporting Russian is a step toward openness, growth, and global thinking. A simple proof point — you’re currently ignoring the most frequently requested language on your own platform, while adding far less widely used ones.

Unfortunately, the lack of the Russian language has become a serious obstacle to the company's implementation of the application. Also, I cannot recommend it to my clients to legal entities, as many employees, directors and company owners are unable and unwilling to adapt to English.
Add a language! Or give me the opportunity to make a crack. It's so easy for a project at your level.

Contact the ClickUp team (in Russian)
Dear ClickUp team,
Please add Russian language support! In the modern world, where integrating new languages into the interface is a standard practice and is not technically difficult, the absence of the Russian language looks like a flaw or even neglect for a multimillion user audience.
You're creating a powerful project management tool, but you're depriving people who could use your service more actively. This spoils the impression about the product and makes it more difficult to distribute it among Russian-speaking users.
Don't ruin customer relationships at such a basic level. Russian language support is not just a wish, but a necessity if you really want to remain a global platform.
Looking forward to your feedback and positive changes,
Boriss

Letter to ClickUp Team (in English)
Dear ClickUp Team,
Please add support for the Russian language! In today's world, integrating multiple languages into a platform is a standard practice and technically easy to implement. The lack of Russian support feels like an oversight or even disregard for millions of potential users.
You have built a powerful project management tool, but by not supporting Russian, you limit accessibility and discourage adoption among a significant user base. This negatively impacts the user experience and damages your relationship with international customers.
Don't ruin your reputation at such a basic level. Adding Russian language support is not just a feature request—it's a necessity if you truly want to be a global platform.
Looking forward to your response and positive changes,
Boriss

There are so many programmers here, and no one has ever amused a script/extension for translating site elements into Russian, as they did with notion?

Ahh, the irony of living in a politically charged world. Half of my Ukrainian team requests the Russian language, yet ClickUp continues to ignore this most-voted feature request.
