This is already solved with our native time tracking feature!
Please refer to this do for more info: https://docs.clickup.com/en/articles/1144625-time-tracking

It would also be nice to see your logged time in a calender view! So you can review your previous work days in one glance

This will be done in April!

Zeb: and,
(1) comments added with time-logged can be viewed inside task's comments' section also
(2) Time-logged and description can be seen in a Table inside task - column-1 will have Date, column-2,3,4 will have start-time, end-time, & duration and column-4 will have 'Description' which was added alongwith logged-time
also, Total time logged should be shown in last row as total,
as well as Total time logged under EACH DATE
(3) also this table can be viewed from Listview 'Time Logged' column itself, without first opening the task
Josh Reeder
Zeb: which April? lol
Ivan Villa
Josh Reeder: Hey Josh! We are actively working on this one, just taking a bit longer than estimated. This is part of a big release for time tracking so there will be a lot more that goes along with it. Hope to get this out soon 🙂

Ivan Villa: Is there any update on when we can expect the time log description feature to be live?
Ivan Villa
Liudmila Kiseleva: Hi Liudmila! We are getting much closer hopefully just a couple weeks :)
Bill Carr
Ivan Villa: Can you release the details of what this will add to Clickup? We are really missing the ability to add a description/note with time entries. To the point we are considering another solution, which we dont want to do. If we knew what feature was coming, we could hold off?
Ivan Villa
Bill Carr: Hi Bill! We are adding options for description, tags, and billable indicator on time entries :)

Will Time Reports for,
(1) Individual Tasks
(on a "Calendar chart" or on a "bar graph", ie, on which all dates a task was worked upon)
(2) For Lists, Folders and Spaces
(on a "Calendar chart" or on a "bar graph", ie, on which all dates a task was worked upon)
also be released alongwith ' Time Tracking' release planned for June end ?

In the time tracking can we get the possibility to log time for other people, this is something that is vital for me since sometime the managers doesn't have the time and need the assistant to log the hours for them.
Brian Bakkebo
We also would like to have a detail per time logged! This is very valuable to see what devs are using time for. For now we are having them put in comments for this, but it seems wrong place to do it.

An option to take random screen shots and track keyboard and mouse clicks while tracking time. This is the only real feature Clickup is missing to make it perfect. Because you don't offer that option, I still have to use an outside time tracker which does not integrate with Clickup. Please add ASAP:
1.) Random screen shots while tracking time. (Just like Upwork's time tracker, Top Tracker or Time Doctor.)
2.) Track keyboard clicks while tracking time.
3.) Track mouse clicks while tracking time.
The above missing features are the only thing keeping Clickup from being the best project/time/task manager. PLEASE ADD!!

Jillian Deyette: I can totally see the use case, but is this even legal for companies to do? (ofc as a solo entrepreneur you can do whatever pleases you and your clients)

Merged in a post:
Add description when logging time

In other project management software, when people add time entries in a task they can add a short description. This helps in understanding how the time was spent and helps in reporting. In clickup we dont get an option to add short description when logging time.

YES YES YES

Agreed.
An option to prevent the user timing anything else until the description has been filled out would also be good
