Allow linking of gitlab issues with tasks
Victor
Right now you can only link repo branches with ClickUp tasks. We use GItLab to describe backlog issues as well, that might not be associated with a current branch. It would be nice to link those Gitlab issues directly with ClickUp tasks & subtasks

We are also currently using Gitlab as our backlog tool in order to have the code linked to the issues. Would be a great feature to be able to create Gitlab issues from clickup. Atm we have develop a custom solution, in order to achive this. Bot creating issues and sync comments between both appications.

Currently we do this in the most cumbersome way possible: with a custom field named "GitLab" with which each task is linked to a relevant GitLab resource. This of course means no automated closing, however it is still better than not being able to link issues, which seems to me like a fundamental missing feature for this integration to make any sense whatsoever.

I've implemented this via make.com (formerly Integromat). Unfortunately there seems to be no easy way to share the integration with others :-(

I'm totally in need of this - syncing issues and milestones is great for us to track everything - much better than what gitlab currently offers. I use clickup for multiple projects and having gitlab integrated would a dream. ClickUp, you superbowl famous now! Do this for your OG peeps plsss?

I think @Filip Procházka stated the best, that's how our Gitlab currently is used for. And when I read about Clickup integrate with Gitlab I was under the assumption that if we create a task in Clickup, the task will automatically be created in Gitlab and vice versa but instead it is only a link connected via MR/commit. The current workflow is a little cumbersome and redundant (i.e. I need to create the same task 2 times - once in Clickup then the other in Gitlab). And you need to have a commit/MR in order to link them, and it may not apply with all tasks (e.g. define requirement).

Agree with everyone here. Full syncing between GitLab and ClickUp should be a base requirement.
I wasted a week trying to figure this out as both your documentation and your first tier support indicated that this _should_ work. The way it works now, even if we tried to get everyone to migrate, I know that we'd end up with orphan issues in GitLab because that's what the developers are working in minute-to-minute.
Also - there is no official way to migrate existing issues to ClickUp if we do want to move - meaning we lose continuity - someone suggested using Zapier - really?
This "integration" seems like just a hack so you can have it on your marketing checklist.

This would be a fantastic feature and is what my team and I were hoping for from the ClickUp and Gitlab integration.
Filip Procházka
We plan on using ClickUp for product/roadmap planning, but we need to keep technical details in Gitlab issues. Having the ability to link Gitlab issue instead of MR would make our workflow possible.
In Gitlab, we link MR's to issues, as supported by Gitlab. So linking Gitlab issues with ClickUp should allow ClickUp to track not only the issue but also related MR's automatically.

I agree with Daniel Koop, after installing the integration, I was really disappointed. Is this a bug? Or is the page/docs promising more than is actually built in?
Andron Ocean
I'd like to have this option, too. It would be great to attach a clickable link to one (or more!) issues in GitLab, that pull in the issue title.
