how to filter docs that have public sharing enabled over clickup

The one big feature that is missing for me is privacy control on comments.. I'd like to choose when/where a guest can see comment threads.. I don't want a guest/client to be able to see my teams internal discussions. Seems others have mentioned a need for this as well.. Monday has a brilliant feature that allows you to make "Broadcast" views that you can share with clients, embed on websites, and allows people to subscribe.. so they can keep track of the project without being able to see the details and comments..

Is it possible to hide comments from guests? I want a client to see the task description and status etc, but we have private comments we don't want them to see. Is there a way to do it?
Rob Leslie
Ines Valente: I would like to have a way to do this, but you almost need two comment streams so that you can communicate privately internally and also more publicly with guests.
I
Ines Valente
Rob Leslie: I don't need them to comment, I just want to hide the comments section as a whole from them :)
Lloyd Silver
Ines Valente: i agree 100%. We are testing clickup and this is one feature that is shockingly missing. We'd like to give clients access as a guest, allow them to comment, but flag specific comments as private for either an individual person or full team members.

I love the ability to share specific tasks with users who would not otherwise have access to spaces and projects that are confidential, but adding them is a bit of a pain. Unless I am missing something, when I want to give access to 3 people on top of the 15 that already have access to the space, I have to make private, and then add the 18 one by one. Would it be possible to have the option to simply add the 3 to the 15 who already have access to the space?
Zeb
Patrick Laframboise: Hey Patrick! In this case, would you want the Space to remain public or do you want it to be private? If you want it to remain public, then you simply can just add those 3 people to your team, and they'll get access the public spaces.
Patrick Laframboise
Zeb: Hi Zeb, Here is an example: a private space with 15 people that have access. All projects, lists and tasks in that space are "public" so they inherit the 15 people. I need one specific list to be shared with 3 additional people. I currently need to make it private, and then add 14 of the original 15 (since I am already there) + the 3 new people.
Current functionality is good if you are trying to be restrictive within the 15, but not good if you need to add people to the 15.
Hope I explained it better this time.
Regards,
Patrick
Zeb
Patrick Laframboise: Ah got it now, I'll add a feature so you can "Make private & share with current people" - that should do it. Thanks for your help!
Patrick Laframboise
Zeb: Thanks Zeb. I should have put it in such simple terms right off the bat!
Ruud
Zeb: Please also allow to exclude persons. E.g. when you have the above 15, but you want to exclude some people (e.g. clients), you can set it to exclude those. Currently you have to also set it to private and add the team.

Zeb New permissions are great! For future releases, it would be great to be able to share a task with an entire team. So for example, if I have shared a project with a guest, I can make specific tasks private to my team only, without having to select all the team members individually.
Also would be a huge time saver if privacy settings transferred for templates. I'm still working through the new features, but it looks like you need to reconfigure privacy settings for each new project deployed from a template?
Zeb
Marcus Corona: Great idea, we'll get that added so you can quickly share with groups of people as well as your entire team!
We'll also add the ability to retain privacy settings within templates.

I just saw the new change. I'm satisfied at least.
However, I really think your team should consider decoupling teams and billing. It would allow us to choose who should pay for the user's account.

We're making some changes to the limits on Guests: https://docs.clickup.com/clickupdates-release-notes/guest-account-policy-update
Lazhar Ichir
Zeb: just read up and happy to see we are listened to... but all of us customers need to appreciate how much effort and engineering goes into everything you guys produce. Hope we can all meet in the middle :-)

Zeb: very reasonable. Congrats

Zeb: Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This is a perfect compromise and it means a lot to know that the ClickUp team really listens to us customers.

Zeb: Phew! I was really worried by the changes announced recently — this is a huge improvement and I'm really grateful to you all for listening and responding. ClickUp is exceptionally good value, but the proposed Guest system would have made it unworkable for us. This is much better — thank you <3

Zeb: I believe this good news is welcomed by a lot of your freelancer customers. The announced ability to add unlimited Guests, with read only permissions, for free, and 5 free Guests by default covers my need. By the time I need more, I can upgrade to the Business plan. Thank you for changing the plans. It's a big relief. Now I can rest assured and plan my business with ClickUp as one of my key tools.
Antti Laitinen
Zeb: Thank you so much! This is the reason why I have chosen ClickUp. You really listen to your customers and care for us. That is something special. ❤️
One wish: Would it be possible to allow project commenting to all unlimited Guests? I believe that it would make Guests (clients in my case) feel that they are more important part of the project. It would also facilitate discussion within the project and therefore ease my workflow. For the most important people I can of course take advantage of those 5 Guests included in my plan and add them as needed.
But in any case this is a huge improvment. Thank you for that! 😍

Zeb: It's Monday (night here) yay! Looking forward to the Guests update...
Zeb
Paul Simbeck-Hampson: It's been updated already, are you having problems?
Paul Simbeck-Hampson
Zeb: Hi Zeb. When I check the billing page the guest quotas are the same as first release version. Also, on the users page I don't see an obvious way to invite guests. Do I need to activate something somewhere?
Zeb
Paul Simbeck-Hampson: I'm showing

on your team, if you scroll down you should see that. Here's a doc on inviting guests: https://docs.clickup.com/f-a-q/how-to-add-guestsPaul Simbeck-Hampson
Zeb: I only see Members: 2/2 and Guest 0/2, I'm on the billing page, is that where you are looking?
Thanks for the link, will review in detail.
Zeb
Paul Simbeck-Hampson: Try again please, there was an issue with it being shipped to a couple of regions
Kevin
Paul Simbeck-Hampson Zeb: Is the 'unlimited guest view only update' also available for the free plan? Or only for the paid plans?
Zeb
Kevin: Permissions are only available in the paid plans
Paul Simbeck-Hampson
Zeb: Thank you, that worked. The currency is $ not Euros, but imagine that'll get updated. Off to explore :-)

Zeb: Anyway we could block comments from guests?
Sydney
Yisroel Fink: Hey Yisorel! Jumping in for Zeb to thank you for sharing the privacy change will improve your workflow. We are working hard to make ClickUp the best platform for our users and sharing your use cases has been very helpful!
We'll be doing our best to update feature requests to keep everyone posted as we know more!

Zeb: Thanks, I noticed a minor bug when I have a filter on and add a task it will not allow me to add an assignee. The way around it is to save it and then add an assignee
