More improvements to tables in docs - BIG TIME

It looks like tables in docs have been slightly improved - https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/improve-tables-in-docs-big-time.
However, still big improvements are needed:
* Background color
* Header formatting
* More column width control
* Cell merging
* Center align tables
* They still look ugly
* ... I could go on and on
At the very least implement something like Typora has - more control, more formatting options and rendering is quite good for markdown tables.

Hey all! 👋 Tables in Docs are a major area of focus for us. We are evaluating all the improvements we want to make and will soon work to prioritize specific improvements. All the feedback here is incredibly helpful! Thank you!

I really like how notion does it for the tables in docs, easy to implement and they look nice and clean. I think this could be an inspiring example

Definitely would love to see improvements coming to Tables. A couple things I would like to see would be:
1) Deleting - currently to delete rows you need to do this one at a time, which can be a royal pain and time suck. Even selecting an entire section of cells does not allow for the Delete button to clear to contents, again taking time for a simple change. Deleting a column where there are merged rows is also not possible, so to make a change would require unmerge, then deleting, then merging again.
2) Bulk Formatting - Font, size, colour, horizontal/vertical alignment, etc. all of the options when "selecting text" should be also available when selecting the cell, or multiple cells.

Hey there! 👋
Just wanted to share some thoughts on the table feature in ClickUp docs right now. It feels like it's hitting a few bumps, which could really use some sprucing up. 🚧
- Bulk Formatting. Formatting tables nicely is a bit of a struggle. 😓 Bulk actions for formatting just aren't playing ball, so if I want to bold the header (or any other line), it’s a one-by-one chore instead of just selecting multiple fields and giving them a bold makeover or centering them all at once. 😞 Also the standard commands should work (cmd+b for bold...).
- Formatting Logic for New Rows. Adding a new row should just mirror the formatting from the one above, right? Same goes for adding a column. It would make things so much smoother. 🔄
- Vertical Alignment. When a row gets taller than its content, choosing how to align the content (top, center, bottom) should be a no-brainer. 📏
- Copy-Pasting Fieldsshould definitely be a thing. If I copy a field, pasting it into another should be just a click away. 📋➡️📋
- Context Menus(right-click) with goodies like in Google Docs (copy, cut, paste, delete, insert/delete rows, merge cells, distribute rows/columns) would be a game-changer. 🖱️
- Sticky Headers/Columnsfor those lengthy tables, so when scrolling, the important bits stay in view. 📌
- Using All Shortcodes(/...) within a table would be amazing. Like, imagine a toggle-list inside a table (and by the way vise versa would be amazing as well -> beeing able to put f.e. tables inside a toggle list) – yes, please! 🤩
That’s a decent wishlist to start with, but there might be more brewing in my mind. 🤔 I’ve gotta say, the current state of table functions feels a bit lacking, pushing us towards Google Sheets/Docs for now, which kinda keeps us from diving fully into ClickUp's doc feature.
Really looking forward to seeing these improvements! I’m rooting for you guys and this fantastic app! 🎉
Thanks for all your hard work and for making such a great tool! 🙏

Dear all,
It'd be great to be able to add .ppt and other documents into table cells as well.

Hey all,
At the risk that this has already been mentioned here somewhere: I would very much appreciate the possibility of inserting images into table cells.

I would love to be able to easily remove all content from a table in a doc. This would make it much more efficient to copy / use templates and empty certain parts.

The GUI in tables still needs work, the automatic floating menus are constantly in the way.
D King
The ability to cursor click on a cell and go to that cell! The click is very unresponsive (I have to navigate tables with keys)
Ability to add multiple rows and add rows using keyboard
Ryan MacAlmon
Justin Hunter I would be splended if tables in Docs could act like Coda tables
