Standard & Custom Field History

I'd love to be able to view individual custom field history by selecting the specific field to view changes over time, rather than having to search through the task description. While the filter and search options help, it would be much quicker to be able to view the specific field's history (what the field was previously, what it was changed to, who made the change, date/time of the change).

History of custom field in task
T
Tyce Herrman
Currently, the only way to see the changes to a custom field in a task is to look at the history of the task overall. It would be helpful to have the option to review only the history of a specific custom field instead of having to scroll through the entire history of the task.

please may an undo button or history field for Long Text Custom Field that shows everything rather than cutting it on the ellipses just because the text was long for with many lines of text. I accidentally deleted a long text in our Team's task and no way I was able to retrieve it

Please can we have a version history for custom fields that shows more than just one line of what has been edited. Our content calendar captions are added within custom fields and we would love to be able to see edit history by not only our team, but our clients. Because we can't expand on what has been edited, we cannot go back to change anything that is deleted or changed in error.

This is important for governance of the workspace. Or org is fairly new to CU - someone recently updated a custom field that is at the workspace level. I love the flexibility of CU for teams to self-administer their spaces, and there is likely no impact in this instance, but it definitely creates a risk if people do this in the future. I'd like to be able to find out who made the change so I can gently remind them not to make changes to fields that are used by other teams.

Custom Field Tracking is critical to understanding who/when/how certain changes were made. This would help us understand how to best remediate situations, but also know who to talk to in cases we want to make a change to know who has been interacting with a field. We just had an instance where someone renamed a custom field used in multiple locations across the workspace. It was clearly an error but I have no way to coach the person who made it to prevent future platform wide issues. In the past, custom fields have been promoted to "workspace" level fields forcing required fields suddenly across the workspace and it was impossible to fix on our CU version. Thank you!

Custom field history is key / Field tracking - this would help with our project updates. You can see the current status, but also see the past status.

a button to recover lost items or look at the lost custom field items to fish them back out

It would be helpful if there was a way to see items that were accidentally removed because a whole custom field got removed. It just took all my saved emails from each category, each client that was input into the click up system, there should be a like a remember button to bring back emails input or formulas put in if it was set at one point in time. That way we could just put back that custom field the way we used it before.

Reporting on moving due dates

Is there a way to report on the number of times / change in time when people have moved due dates forward? This would be very interesting from a reporting perspective.

Provide a full audit trail (as Airtable) of changes made in a text field - who did what and when they did it showing crossed text. That would be great for copywriting in ADV Agencies!
