Busy/Free option in Google Calendar sync

It would be nice to be able to set a task as busy or free for the calendar sync with google. Right now it shows everything as busy which was messing with the ability for people to book into my schedule, so I had to turn google calendar syncing off. If I could set all tasks as free by default and then set certain ones as actually busy that would be beneficial.

To keep everyone informed, we've updated the status of this Canny post to reflect current product initiatives.
Before working on the request for the ability to have a Busy/Free option in Google Calendar our integrations team is focusing on making the entire Google Calendar integration more reliable.
Currently, they are focusing on this, other reliability efforts, and the features we are excited to share with you during our LevelUp Conference!
We hope to revisit this request in the future and the ClickUp team will keep this post up to date when we have more to share in the future!

We are in the proofing stage prior to our company onboarding. I couldn't believe tasks without a specified time, tasks would be scheduled as busy in Google Calendar. Let alone there are only a few tasks that have hard-set time commitments. This might completely break how our team was planning on using ClickUp in tandem with Calendly.

This is bug makes the integration unusable for people who manage their calendar availability. Calendar Integration is extremely useful so am very surprised that this has remained open for nearly 6 years.

Here we are in 2024....still no fix for this issue. Users should not have to jump through hoops, use a workaround, or just "deal with it" for a simple function like this. If I were not using Clickup for a client's tasks, I would not use it at all. This is a huge deal-breaker for me. I have disabled the Google Calendar Sync feature because it blocks off all my days as "busy" and no one can book through my OnceHub scheduler.

Susan Poisson: new here and this is an infuriating feature/bug. thanks for sharing how it's still not fixed, and articulating exactly how I'm approaching it. It's a shame.

i was hoping that task type "Milestone" can automatically set to "Free" on Google Calendar. Otherwise it's really messing up my Calendly scheduling options... For now, I think that's a quick tweak the developers can work on! Hope this can be rolled out soon!! Else, my Google Calendar is just showing that I'm not available everyday since I have tasks scheduled for the whole week at least few weeks in advanced
