New Chrome Extension
beta
Alex Lashkov
Good news! We're rebuilding the ClickUp Chrome Extension from the ground up -- AI-first, faster, and free from the reliability issues of the past.
To make sure it fits seamlessly into your daily workflows, we'd love to know:
👉 What other Chrome extensions do you use regularly?
(e.g. writing assistants, screenshot tools, video clip recorders, AI copilots - anything!)
This info will fuel our roadmap + ensure compatibility with tools you already use!

First of all, The Chrome extension is one of the primary reasons I love ClickUp so much, and why I came back to it after switching to Asana for 8 months. LOVE how easy it is to delegate things to my team and notate on screenshots for Step-by-Step instructions!
I also love that I can add a screenshot to a subtask... The way you can navigate between Space, Folder, List makes it easy to find the right task or subtask. THANK YOU, please don't change this! :)
However, one thing that I would absolutely LOVE would be to add an addendum to the DESCRIPTION of a task or subtask. Sometimes I find something additional I need to add after I've already finished creating the task. I don't want to create a whole separate subtask... so perhaps even if it was a COMMENT that could be added and tag the assignee.
Finally, being able to update certain custom fields from the plugin would be amazing.

Not sure if this has been covered previously, but would love to be able to manually input time in to a task via the chrome extension, instead of it defaulting to the timer (with no alternative).

To reach convergence in a ClickUp Workspace and to leverage Ai , it is crucial to be able to actually import Google Mails.
Today, for the Gmail-imported text/html attachment, the integration receives metadata only, not the actual HTML payload (email body). Therefore, a lot of important information is missing/ cannot transferred into ClickUp Workspaces.
-> The new ClickUp Chrome Extension should import Gmails in a better human- and machine-readable format.
Alex Lashkov
Sven Zimmermann I agree. We are a bit constrained on the capacity now, but this was always on our list!

Aside from the floating clickup button, it would be great to have a side panel as a chrome extension where you can be able to visualize your different spaces, folders, lists, etc… just like the one ticktick has

Like Loom, Tella etc., allow you to record your screen, a window... directly from the Chrome extension.

It would be great if you could add the info you create in the chrome extension into your clickup app. Be able to organise and edit notes, saved emails etc so you can keep it open without needing to open the extension

It could replace many apps and would easier to setup and use on many OS's without the need to have separate apps. As well as, it would be a cross platform app. So, please consider its benefits well.

Hi Alex,
I came to request some features in "create task from email' in the current chrome extension:
- An option for dates to be interpreted as DD/MM/YY rather than American MM/DD/YY,
- An option not to automatically follow a task I create, as I delegate tasks using this extension and have to manually unfollow them.
Finding talk of a new AI first extension didn't sound great and then after install the ClickUp Brain Extension, it was confirmed. Please just continue to provide solid basics with optional AI add ons instead of baking AI into everything as a default and making things worse.
Alex Lashkov
Julian Batten at this point we will not be developing old extension. So we can discuss how we could make a new one work better for you.
One thing is following your CU account setting for the date, right? What other requests do you have/what is not working in this case?

Julian Batten
Alex Lashkov thanks for the reply - when using the click up app dates follow DD/MM/YY, which is correct for me. The extension does not.
The other request is an option not to follow task created from the extension, as I delegate task to other team members and do not need notifications on by default for these.
One more request would be to able search for team member by initials rather than full name, as you can in the app. As well as search for myself with my name or initials, not just 'me'
Funnily enough, as I'm writing this the extension has broken again (maybe chrome updated) - last update didn't break the extension so I thought this might have been resolved. I guess I'll remove it, reinstall and relink account again! Looking forward to an new extension that provides reliable useful features and doesn't focus on AI :)
Alex Lashkov
Julian Batten: yeah we are trying to keep our heads above the water with all of the things happening and add some non-AI features to a new one!

Hey, Alex Lashkov I think I may have found a bug using the extension in Microsoft Edge, when changing the extension’s site access setting to “On click” (so it’s only available to a website when clicked, instead of being available on all sites).
When I try to use voice mode in this configuration, the extension signs me out. After that, I’m unable to sign back in: the sign-in page lets me enter my email, but the “Continue” button stays greyed out and can’t be clicked. The only workaround I’ve found is to reinstall the extension. This does not happen if I don't change the configuration as mentioned above.
Alex Lashkov
Liam this is weird. Can you pls record a clip of this issue and send me here or via email? Edge is not officially supported yet, but anyways interesting bug..
Liam
Hey Alex Lashkov, I've recorded that clip for you — what email address should I send it to?
And both Chrome and Edge use the same browser engine (Chromium) under the hood. So, if what I found originates from the render layer, then it could present in Chrome also — though unlikely being a extension issue; likely a permissions thing.
Alex Lashkov
Liam hey, sorry this got lost a bit. Email is alashkov@clickup.com, will be on it right away!
Liam
All done Alex Lashkov.
Alex Lashkov
Liam: yeah for other folks reading - I could reporduce the issue, and we will be looking into it! We will see what we can do!
