Email capture

The email capture on the previous chrome extension allowed you to attach it to a task. Brian seems to immediately attempt to create a new task when I click the "add to clickup" button on my gmail.

The current state is that when you click "Add to ClickUp" from Gmail, AI begins with an auto-prompt "Create a task from email ...".
Desired state: Clicking "Add to ClickUp" in Gmail starts a conversation but allows for alternate prompts right off the bat, specifically
"Add to existing task"
. Old chrome extension allowed for adding to existing task or creating new task.

We are actually working on this mechanism in the new extension right now!

Alex Lashkov Will the new extension replace completly the older one? If the answer is yes, will the new one get the 'Screenshot' functionality?
Alex Lashkov
Daniel Urbano at some point it should replace, but no rush. Exact feature set at the moment is tbd
Daniel Urbano
Alex Lashkov Perfect. Thanks!

Daniel Urbano pleasure always! If you got any other ideas of feature requests - please share as we are now working on the quarterly roadmap

Yeah Brain now disable from Chrome because the attach email from old widget just doesn't work with Brain in use. I want to attach the email because then the attachments are also pulled in. Brain doesn't do this either.
Summary isn't bad from brain, but if it were creating a new task I'd expect that description to be in the task, not as a comment.
Alex Lashkov
Aran Bates yeah, that makes total sense - we will be introducing this.

I discovered the Brain Chrome extension when doing my regular uninstall-reinstall to make the previous ClickUp Chrome extension work (it's a known issue - see hundreds of reviews in the Chrome web store). Ditto to what Taylor Miller and Stefany Marchewka are saying here. I've found with Brain it wants to quote the entire email in the activity feed on a ClickUp card but that's messy and cluttered. The old way was better, and saving attachments from emails was much easier before. The Brain extension is a step backward for these important tasks

We are also having the same issue that Taylor Miller wrote. I am unable to attach the email to the specific task. I can only make a new task, then have to merge it to the initial task in order to work. Also, I was only able to attach one email a task this morning, but now I am unable to do it at all today. Also, the source reference is inaccurate. It goes directly to my main email and not the email associated with the task. I like the old way, it was way easier and less steps. Since you all added the AI Brain to this new function, it does not work at all. How long until this is resolved? We have several staff members that utilize this function for their every day work tasks?

Stefany Marchewka copy that, we are working on this mechanism right now
