Let the "Overview" be an optional component in a Folder
planned
Jana Michelová
With the 3.0 release, we got the "Overview" view in folder that is apparently required. This means, after entering a folder, you need to make additional click into your list, because it's second in a row, overview being the first. The overview cannot be dragged anywhere, neither turned off. Pinning other views doesn't help either. Please, make this "overview" view optional. I don't need it at all, and this only makes me click even more to get where I need. Thank you.

Hate It!
A minute update that would make life easier for users, and we've been waiting for three months for this..
Jana Michelová
Aleksandr Ladenko: I finally introduced the new clickup to the rest of my team, making the 3.0 mandatory. They are all bitching about this extra click :D I hate it too!!!

Add me to the list of disgruntled users. Overview is meaningless to me and it's beyond frustrating that a subscription upgrade is required (i.e. cash grab) in order to set the default view for folders and lists to anything BUT the Overview.
Jana Michelová
Jen Parkhill: Is there a subscription upgrade connected?! :O
We are currently on the "business" plan. I had no clue!

Alternatively, the Overview page should also have the option to be removed, similar to what you can do in Asana.
Jana Michelová
Jiyong Park: Absolutely! But I got the feedback of "We are unlikely to make this optional, but we will be making it optional to have it as the default view." by Dean (below) so I guess this is not happening :D

I feel an easy modification for this would be to add "Overview" as an option to the "Default view" setting. It seems to be overriding what is set in "Default settings for views" and I'm noticing the extra click as I mainly work in "Lists".
Jana Michelová
Will Cosentino: Feel you! t's "just a click" but doing this click the entire day is really annoying :(

As a solo consultant and coach, I don't expect ever to use the Overview layout, so I say +1 to be able to hide it permanently.
I use a space for my view of each of my clients, including me. I have folders and lists under each space for their major projects. Now I have to click on my preferred view (and, apparently, recreate all the table and board views I was using?) for every. single. folder. and. list... Not a good use of my time.
I used a single-toggle Clickup setting to hide the team features I don't need and can't use. I can't add people at clients using Jira, Trello, or Basecamp to Clickup, even as guests. I can't store client docs or manage their resources on my computers. But I do need to see my project deliverables by due date and priority in a table. I should be able to hide views and other features that don't support the way I work. Thanks.

I too want to be able to decide what's the default view for my folders. I want the list view to be the default; this is were my tasks live. I don't want to have to click more to view my tasks and get the job done. ClickUp is a productivity tool; don't make users click more please.

- Please do this for space, folder, and list.
- NEVER add a screen that I MUST use when you make a change.
- If you ever do, provide a way to bypass the screen EASILY.
Currently, I must click each space, folder, and list individually, then right click the tab for the view I want, then go to "more settings" - then make the view I want the default.
FOR EVERY INDIVIDUAL space, folder, and list.
This is a productivity tool. You have just made it a "do 30 minutes of repetitive busywork tool"
I am stunned. Y'all are normally really good at this.

If we could customize the overview, like a dashboard, that would be much more useful, to me and my team, than just a straight list of lists in the folder.
Guy Mannerings
Abbe Philo: Yes, the overview page is pretty pointless right now.
Aleksandr Ladenko
It's not clear why they implemented it at all, isn't the point that the user can customize the default view himself?
It is not clear what is important in this view to make it required.....
