We use Email in ClickUp to respond to customer emails directly from tasks. When replying using the threaded Reply option (replying to an existing email in the task activity), ClickUp includes the full previous email content in the reply body, and there is no option to remove or collapse the quoted history before sending. This creates a poor experience for recipients in Gmail because the outgoing email becomes very cluttered with repeated prior messages, and Gmail does not consistently minimize/collapse the old content the way it typically does with native Gmail replies. Current behavior: Replying from a task via the threaded “Reply” action automatically includes the full prior email chain in the email body. The composer does not provide a way to trim/remove the quoted text, or to send only the new reply content. Expected behavior / requested enhancement: Please add one or more of the following options for threaded email replies: A toggle to hide/collapse quoted text in the reply composer (and send only the new content). An option to remove quoted history from the reply body (similar to standard email clients). A setting at the Workspace or user level such as “Include quoted text in replies: On/Off.” (Optional) A “Show quoted history” expandable section in the composer UI so it’s available for reference but not sent as clutter by default. Impact: Makes external communication harder to read (especially for Gmail users). Adds noise and can look unprofessional, particularly over long threads. 3 . Forces us to avoid threaded replies, which reduces the value of keeping email conversations neatly threaded in ClickUp.

We have been cleaning up our custom fields by deleting them or merging them. I have noticed that if you merge a custom field into another one, there is no history or comment about this on a task. This can lead to some confusion. Here is a scenario: A custom field - we'll call it "CF1" - has a single select dropdown with options "1" and "2". Another custom field, "CF2", has a single select dropdown with options "1", "2", and "3". A number of tasks have one of these options selected. Both of these fields are selected to be merged. CF1 will be merged into CF2. The mapping is straightforward, 1 -> 1, 2->2. The merge occurs. If you examine any of the tasks that had a value set for CF1, the history will show that the field "CF1" was set with the value. If you go looking for that field, it doesn't exist. This gets more complicated if you go the other way around and merge CF2 into CF1. If you map 3 -> 1 or 2. It would be nice if a comment was added to the affected tasks that had fields with values merge so those tracking changes to the tasks could see those changes.

User is unable to highlight, select, and copy multiple comments in a Tasks activity thread. Causing copy and paste to be reduced to a single comment at a time.

The get_task_comments MCP tool only returns top-level comments. When a comment has threaded replies (reply_count > 0), there's no way to retrieve those replies through the MCP server. The ClickUp REST API already supports this via GET /api/v2/comment/{comment_id}/reply. It would be great to expose this as an MCP tool (e.g., clickup_get_comment_replies) so AI assistants can read full conversation threads. Use case: When checking task comments for context, threaded replies often contain the most important information (answers, decisions, follow-ups) but are currently invisible to the MCP client.

Ability to select comments by clicking or checkbox and to delete selected. A 'Delete All' button would be nice.

Hi it would be very helpful if Clickup allows to take photo with having timestamp on it. It allows people to update their work on site, their photo with Time Date and Location. I would really appreciate if Clickup can consider having timestamp features on their apps thank you ☺

Right now, they are quite long as you can see in the screenshot. Do we need all these details, especially since you see them again when hovering the mention?

Category: Task Management / User Experience (UX) Context and Problem Statement: The 'Activity' panel within a ClickUp task is a critical component for tracking the complete history, including status changes, comments, and, most importantly, forwarded email threads . Our workflow frequently involves transferring long, multi-message email threads into the task activity via the unique "send-to-task" email address. The current challenge is that when these long email messages are displayed, they require excessive, continuous scrolling. This significantly hinders the ability to quickly review the overall task history and find older updates, making the Activity panel less efficient for a holistic task review. We need a way to minimize the space taken up by individual long entries while retaining easy access to their full content. Proposed Feature Enhancements: To significantly improve navigation and ease of use within the Activity panel, we propose implementing two key functionalities for email messages and potentially long comments: Collapse/Fold Functionality for Long Entries: - Implement a simple, consistent control (e.g., a "Show More/Less" toggle or a collapsible header) to fold or collapse a long email message or comment. - When collapsed, only the header and a brief, one- or two-line snippet of the content would be visible. - This would allow users to quickly scan the entire Activity feed without being forced into endless scrolling through a single, long item. Quick Navigation Buttons within Long Entries: - Within the expanded view of a particularly long email entry, add small arrow buttons (e.g., up/down, or jump to top/bottom) that, when clicked, jump the viewport directly to the beginning or the end of that specific message. - This would be highly useful for navigating within an extremely long, single activity item without having to manually scroll its entire length. These additions would greatly facilitate the review of a ticket's complete history, particularly in documentation-heavy workflows like patent, trademark, and design matter prosecution, and would significantly improve the overall user experience within the ClickUp interface.

When using the "Add to description" feature on the comment, make sure the comment is formatted properly so that it is clear that the text added was a comment (e.g. format it as a quote). Mention the author of the comment, as well as the date and time of writing it. Optional: since every comment has a unique link and can become a thread - include a short link (e.g. hidden in a text/button) to quickly go to that comment (in the same tab).

I should be able to minimize email comments in the activity. I think being able to minimize email chains in activity chat and expand them if needed would clean up the activity drastically. also attachments should be able to be selected in bulk so they can be deleted easier if there are email signature images attached to an email.
