Centralized Timesheet View W/ Multiple View Options

Logging time by opening every task individually is a huge burden and can be extremely hard to spot mistakes. Please consider adding a weekly "Timesheet" that can list all tasks "charged" during that period and hours can be added/modified/deleted from a single view. Thanks!

The Timesheets functionality is completely useless to us when we are unable to define the date range, at the very least a monthly range instead of weekly. A very basic function would be to view it by Space. Not sure if you have hidden these fundamental options in a higher tier plan, if this is the case then you should reconsider.
Anthony C.
Kay Telle Hoel The functionality you are looking for is available in the dashboard time tracking cards. The timesheet serves a different purpose, it's for logging and auditing time, not reporting!

Now that we have timesheets, I would like to have the ability to not have to go in and flitter by group each time I want to look at my team's timesheets. As it is now, as an Administrator I see everyone's and do not have the ability to save a filter.
Anthony C.
Kirk Miller As a workaround, you can bookmark the URL. Whenever you update filters in the timesheet we update the URL accordingly.

- Available on Business, Business Plus, and Enterprise plans, with a 100-use trial available for Free Forever and Unlimited plans.
I want to thank everyone who voted and provided feedback on this project. The launch has been very well received because we worked together to design a great feature!
We'll keep improving it over time so please create Canny threads for any updates you'd like to see. In the meantime, we are deep in the approvals project that is tightly coupled with the timesheet.
For detailed instructions, be sure to check out our Help Center article.

Anthony C. Really happy with this featue, especially being able to add time ( holiday / sick leave ) hours for team mates.
Great to see the weekly updates are back after the v3 launch as well.

Anthony C. Great job on this!!!

Anthony C. great work. i love it. But ...
For personal law reasons, I would have to restrict the view for employees; not all employees are allowed to see the times of all employees. I absolutely need this setting. Now everyone can see the times of every employee. That is not allowed and a legal problem.
Anthony C.
Christoph Ottiger:
There is a Canny request to add more granular permissions to time tracking here: https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/granular-permissions-for-time-tracking-and-estimates.
As mentioned in that request, everyone had access to the same data before we launched the timesheet. We didn't change any permissions.
Having said that, we are discussing this internally at the moment to see what solutions we can offer.
Yevhenii Rybak
Anthony C. That's perfect. Thank you!
Could we add more filters, like space, list, etc...?
Also could you add function for export timesheet at all and by filters.?

Anthony C. I just reviewed the time sheet tab and my GOD is it night and day compared to the clunky dashboard view i had patched together. I appreciate ClickUp so much for not just the platform, but the community and people implementing the ideas that are suggested.
Love seeing this, and great job to the devs for building this out. Can't wait to fully implement it in my workflow.
Anthony C.
Yevhenii Rybak We are going to connect a dashboard to the timesheet so you'll be able to analyze and export the data there! Coming soon.

The timesheet is refreshing to see but my team works in different ranges. I am hoping I can use this to track hours for payroll but it currently doesn't let me select dates other than one week at a time. My payroll runs twice a month so 1st to 14th and 15th to EOM.
Anthony C.
Nicole Bandes: Your team will use the timesheet to log and audit their time to ensure it is all accurately captured, but for reporting and exporting you'll want to set up a dashboard, which can use any date range you like.

Happy to have the new timesheet view, especially helpful for team members! This is what would make the new timesheet view even more functional for us:
- Ability to pin a task so that it shows up every week vs. only when there is time tracked.
- Ability to add/pin a task to your timesheet from the task list (vs having to add it from the timesheet) so you can go back at the end of the day/week and do all your tracking at once.
Thank you for the consideration and keep up the good work!
Anthony C.
Helios Yu: Both of these are on our list of follow ups to further improve the timesheet!

With the new timesheets the archived hours are not visible... with the old system (time tracking) these hours are visible. Is it possible that those hours are also viewable in the timesheets? This would be really helpfull for us
Anthony C.
Remy van Eijsden: Can you share your use case for needing to see time entries that are attached to archived tasks? We hide those time entries nearly everywhere in the app. I think the recent entries list on the time tracking pop-up is the only place they are available, which they really shouldn't be there either!
Remy van Eijsden
Anthony C. Sure! After that we completed a project, our financial guy archives the task or project. (we have sometimes a LOT of projects for 1 client, so when we archive it, it's not cluttering our views).
But some projects are already billed when the project is not yet finalized (fixed prize projects for example). With these projects, the financial guy also wants to do an hour-check after the project is finished. But now the hours disappear..
They shouldn't be viewable the entire time, but a switch to show archived task hours would be nice.
It's good to look back at how many hours we've spend on past projects to make an hour estimation for new projects, or to look at how many hours in 2023 we've spend in total on certain clients
Anthony C.
Remy van Eijsden Thanks for the additional info. We are discussing archiving internally now to see what makes sense. It seems like we'll need to add a filter for archived task status like what exists on lists, dashboards, etc. but I'm trying to think through how that works with our approvals process that is being built currently. Thanks again for the details!
Remy van Eijsden
Anthony C. glad to help!

Anthony C. Some ideas for improvements:
- Drag and drop for adding time that is not assigned to a task.
- Add possibility to create views for the section "All timesheets" to manage the own team faster, instead of selecting all time the right team and filters.
- Set weekly hours for a specific date range to maintain absences and holidays. Take the default from a personal preset.
Anthony C.
Andreas Pütz: Thanks for the suggestions! Will share them with the squad.

Hi,
When can we expect a function to export reports in PDF format or publish a public link to a customizable report, or is this not even in the pipeline?
Anthony C.
Amara Amzal: Publishing a public link isn't in the pipeline. I believe this this the first request I've seen for it. I'd suggest creating a Canny request for it and let's see if others are interested as well.
We've had quite a bit of interest in exporting from the timesheet so we are taking a look at that. Though we are going to do some more research around it to find out if the root of the request is that people specifically want to export the timesheet, or they just want that format instead of the individual time entries that are exported from dashboards today. We'll have new export options from dashboards in the future so I think that is what most people really want, but we'll find out!
Amara Amzal
Anthony C. Thank you for your reply. I invite you to take a leaf out of Clockify's book when it comes to exporting reports. Since you've decided to add a time-tracking feature that makes integration with third-party applications unnecessary, you might as well go all the way and extend the standard features in this area.

I am excited to hear that there is an update coming for timesheets! Being in professional services, timesheets are critical to the successful management of our business. However, given the current structure of time tracking, I expect a few things will prevent me from being able to use time tracking within ClickUp. Is anyone able to confirm the functionality listed below in the upcoming release?
- Team members have roles assigned within a space/folder and there is a rate associated with that role. Users could have multiple roles. Tasks are then billable to clients based on the selected role during time entry and if someones time should always be billable, you only assign them the one role.
- Roles have a default rate, but that rate can be changed at the space/folder level.
- A universal timesheet view allows a user to add/remove rows (for each space/folder that they have a role for) and add time for any day within the timeframe.
- Time entries could be linked to one or more tasks and allow for detailed comments.
- Approvals: i suspect this one is there, but owner of the space/folder can approve timesheets.
- Utilization reporting by teams.
- Capacity planning - what users didn't have a full week over a previous timeframe.
Anthony C.
Stephen Rosenfeld: You've got a great list here! We are in alignment.
- Billable rates are on our roadmap, but not a project we have started yet. It will be key to time tracking as a complete solution though!
- Approvals are in progress right now. There is a separate Canny request you can follow for updates on that: https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/timesheet-approvals
- Reporting comes after approvals and that will include utilization. Capacity planning is done via Workload view, which my squad is also going to start working on in the near future.
