Template Tasks > Concatenate Task Names with Custom Field
Randall Lowe
This might be be dependent on https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/let-subtasks-inherit-all-custom-fields-of-parent-tasks, but I would like the ability to prepend or append a task's custom field value to the task name.
Right now, I have a task template that has about 30 sub-tasks. When I create more than one parent task using that template, linking other existing tasks to the new sub-tasks is basically impossible through the dependency selector on the task because all instances of the template tasks share the exact same name, and no breadcrumbs exist to show where the sub-tasks/tasks exist.
The attached image shows an example of the problem I'm talking about. I am unsure how to determine the correct sub-task.

+1 it would be really cool also to have dynamic elements in the tasks names, for instance "Send Invoice %current-month%" -> Send Invoice September

We want to use ClickUp for requesting creatives to our design team and it would be very useful to get the name of the creative from the selection of field names of the request.

I agree. We have an use case where we are using forms to create tasks and it would be really helpful to have the name of the task created from a concatenate formula putting together various info from the form submissions

Yes, I have sometimes the same thing :)

I noticed the same issue when I was trying to link some tasks as well. Would be a nice feature to include the breadcrumbs. I have several that have the
same
name (most tasks are repetitive) so breadcrumbs would be better than just the parent name (at least for me) but either option would be super helpful. :)
